Patek eye candy

HeeHaw galloped me across the waters and clouds on a watch expedition.

My AD, hiding the watches from others (seriously) showed me a few in a secluded corner of the boutique - just for my pleasure.

I offered to buy any or all they'd sell. Y'all can only imagine how hard for a cowboy from East Texas it may be to beg and be rejected, and beg, knowing there'd be no chance, but a horse's man gotta do his lassoing.

Happy to have had the opportunity to touch these beauties and see for myself how handsome i look with any of these on my wrist.

Sharing the delight with y'all.
p.s. sorry for the poor quality...had to take them without drawing attention.

I'd never beg to spend $100k ... I fucking hate those type of sellers and I have once walked out of a Patek AD the moment they want me to buy some gold first.

Then I spread the experience to all my followers and network not to give that particular AD their business.

Don't let them treat you any less than a human being.
It's just a watch.

Wow beautiful watches
Which one was your favorite?

How was that 5236P? I’m dreaming of getting one!

Pictures (even Patek's pictures, and especially mine )do no justice to its beauty, elegance and weight.

I asked the champ to let me go back once more before my departure and heehaw getting antsy. He said I'd be welcome.

I feel they treated me like loyalty!!! I understand their situation. Even showing me the pieces in private was a delightful experience. The gentleman, a couple of his colleagues and I had a great conversation.

Well in reality they don’t work…they are demo models…hence why the time is fixed at 10:08 permanently

All cool and exciting but what did you think of the 4947?

4947

[QUOTE=QuantumOceanLawyer;11747362]All cool and exciting but what did you think of the 4947?

Nice, elegant too....but frankly in the presence of all other timepieces, it did not look exciting. None of the watches were "for sale" at least not to a humble CountryBoy like me.

They also showed me the Calatrava grey dial which i found elegant but that too, did not feel much in the presence of those other magnificent timepieces.

On the bright side, i managed to buy two relatively not so easy to find Rolex watches from a Rolex shop I frequent regularly.

CountryBoy
P.S. hope you're settling well in your new city.

Thank you for mentioning that.

Great pics, OP! Did they give a rationale for not selling them? Who are they waiting to sell them to?

I will go back in a couple of days to see if working condition or not...i am sure they have many rich customers but the drill is clear: buy a dozen of other watches.

I may nonetheless have the possibility to purchase the 6119G.

Awesome on the Rolex purchases. You need to let me know if you do get the 4947. I think it’s a neat addition to the lineup. My AD said I wouldn’t like it because it’s too small but I haven’t seen one in person.

The new city is treating me extremely well. I love LA. Meeting some good watch people. I’m also going to Geneva for the watch auctions in November which I’m very excited about.

I liked 4947 ...yes smaller but did not bother me at all. If i could get it, i'd get it; because i like it enough.

I had ticket to go to Geneva a few weeks ago but cancelled due to CDC warnings and suggestions against traveling to Switzerland. Who knows, in November our paths may cross. Please feel welcome to inbox me. and have fun.

i was in your town last week...what a sad watch scene now, ever since Shreve & co. moved to their current small location and at least one other good watch shop nearby closed.

no movements in show items

A few pardners here had questioned whether the show items had movements in them or not.

I went back to the Patek gallery. My champ there said no movements.
Also went to PF Journe shop which had plenty of show items with no movements.

My level of happiness with my opportunity to check and put on wrist these jewels has not diminished.

My search for one more Patek or Rolex has now brought me to yet one more continent as of last night. HeeHaw is becoming a bit pouty in his loneliness but is understanding of the urge.

Do we really need movements in our watches? Wouldn't it speed up the production process if the watches were just cases? No exhibition backs, of course.
