Day Date different colored datewheels

Hi all,

On pre-owned DD36s, I’ve noticed for a while that most day date day and date windows feature black text on a crisp white background as we are used to. However, some seem to have a beige or even gold appearance in photos. This is clearer on champagne dials. Is there a real difference or is it just that the datewheel has aged? Have to say I prefer the crisp white on a white dial config.

I don't know about the day dates and will let others chime in, but on my 16613LB bluesy the date wheel color is beige, to match the rest of the gold tone of the text etc. Later for 116613LB, Rolex changed it to white for better legibility. I wouldn't be surprised if some day dates (of certain years) had a beige date wheel to keep the flow of the gold in the dial.
