Longtime ‘new’ member from the UK
Embarrassed to say that I have been a member here for many, many years but have never really posted. I have used this forum for insights, information, educational and entertainment for over half a decade but always felt too shy to post.
I’ve now got to a point where the collection is getting out of hand so I thought I’ll show my face and admit to my addiction. Originally I was a Rolex guy, then a Rolex and Omega guy, then a Rolex, Omega, Heuer, Breitling, Zenith & whatever guy. I’m a big fan of 1970s style which does influence my collection, but I also love Sports Rolex of any era. Not really into new stuff, especially with the prices, the wait or the hassle of dealing with ADs. I love the hunt of a good watch and the excitement of a decent auction so vintage is my go-to (although I do own a 2006 daytona and a 2008 Deepsea from new, back when prices were fun!) I’m a buyer but not a seller (as much as I tell my other half these watches are an ‘investment’), things come in, get worn and stay but never leave. Mine is the Hotel California of watch collections. So if you see me selling on here then you’ll know my account has been hacked, or my other half has worked out how much I have actually spent.. |
