I had to compliment my waiter who served my bowl of ramen, he had a full RG sky dweller. He turned out to be the owner who couldn't find enough workers. He jokingly wanted to trade for my SS ROC...I said yes, but then he quickly ran off serving other people's ramen.

I am fortunate to own several PM ‘s watches… they are noticed yes…Most are great comments.
I try to hide them in areas when walking around, or situations /areas that might be better to be cautious. In general, most people don’t have a clue what a pm Rolex costs, probably they think $10k and some others think $100k, anyway no clue…. The problem having many gold ones is that they think I’m crazy, but they don’t tell me. I wear gold watches because I love the weight and the look.

Oh she does. I would say that it is one of the intended results of getting a yellow gold Rolex.

Most ppl don’t care about watches like we do. I think that with all the Invicta, MK, Fossil watches has tone down the attention a gold piece will get.

Yes. thats the reason why rose gold or white gold would be a better option if you are concern about "bling bling" effect but still like some precious metal on.. Don't get me wrong, they still will attract some attention, but its lesser than a YG.

Don’t have any yellow or white gold but I can 100% say these 2 get a fair amount of attention. Drive thrus when paying, restaurants, shopping, etc. I just say thank you and keep it moving.
Don’t want to get into any long drawn out conversations about what is it and what model/brand. Not my thing. At all………

99.9% of people don't care what watch you are wearing or longingly look or sneak glances at your watch

My YG President is the only watch that draws attention.

This is a problem sometimes in my opinion. I have a yellow gold day date black dial with baguettes. It’s very loud in my opinion. Of course sometimes I think I’m paranoid about that. I absolutely don’t want attention. I find the piece incredibly beautiful to look at myself but the only attention I ever want when it comes to my watches is from other watch enthusiast. I mean true watch enthusiasts. Horology hunters if you will. They are the only complements I am looking for. Reason being they are somebody I can sit down and have a cup of coffee with and discuss our hobby. Everyone else I could not care less. I don’t want other attention. As a result I rarely wear that piece. Meanwhile I’m working on my collection to be more under the radar and much higher end than my YG DD.

Is my watch too small?
Do I not waive my arms around enough? Or, perhaps I just don’t get out enough? I was hoping for so much more attention. Could it really be my smile? Do I combine smiling with the arm waiving? I assume this should be done out somewhere, right? Wearing a watch is hard. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro |

My yellow gold pieces have received a fair amount of comments and looks, all positive. I can tell you though my Bluesy got the most by far. That watch enters a room before you do! A few pics as requested.

i really want to add a YG daytona to the collection or a YG submariner one day however the times are changing for the worst currently in NYC and not sure how much wrist time it would actually get unless i can afford to hire a bodyguard =P which leads me to answer YES : definitely gets more attention. sometimes, unwanted attention as well. There have been quite a few muggings in NYC and even a shooting at a very well known restaurant over a watch. people are specifically targeting luxury watches given the craze going on today.
i have a few co workers who have quite the collection and prior to this fiasco would constantly wear PP's, AP's and Rolex's but lately that hasn't been the case. While we all love our watches, we must be careful and cautious so we can be around to enjoy them and one day pass them down to whoever we choose =) |
