The OFFICIAL Rolex Oyster Perpetual Owners' Club...Let's see them!!!!

It was the first watch to scale the big mountain and spawned the Explorer because of it. This year they were supersized at Baselworld and they added the now defunct Airking to their ranks.

Or as Rolex states on their site. "Oyster Perpetual: The direct descendant of the original oyster launched in 1926, the first waterproof wristwatch in the world and the foundation on which Rolex has built its reputation."

Strangely they get relatively little publicity here on the forum. It time; show your Justa Oyster Perpetual if you've got them and love them.

I've had two; the first one I traded in on a SubC but almost immediately regretted it; it's been replaced and won't be leaving again.

Then...

and now...

Wow, I can't believe I'm the only owner of this historically significant watch on the forum; maybe there are others who are afraid to come out of the closet on this issue in their lives.

Adam, sharp as a tack again; I was so busy looking at the beautiful dial I missed the hands. Looks great. I agree.

Great thread, great watch. I've long admired the OP, wish I had picked up a 36mm with the silver 369 dial. Are they still available?

To the owners, enjoy them!

Likely they are still around; you might try talking to one of the trusted sellers. Great watches for certain.

How did you source the hands; I like the look a lot. I imagine it is more legible at night time.

The Date is a great watch but it's not the OP. Beautiful pair but the OP doesn't have the date on it.

I think you can actually still order the silver 369 new from an AD...I ordered my blue 369 brand new from my AD just last month...

I sourced the hands from a member, they are 114270 explorer hands, which happen to be submariner hands as well.
Night legibility is much improved.

Interesting. How is the OP defined (at least for the purpose for this thread)?

Look at the Rolex site; they define the model. First one at the top of the page is the Oyster Perpetual; the other are Oyster Perpetuals but not the Oyster Perpetual.

The basic Oyster Perpetual, with only Rolex Oyster Perpetual at the top of the dial.

This, or models directly descended from it since 1931...

Wow, that's a beauty, a step above the everyday type of watch I see for the OP.

It's from the Rolex Press Room, where they say it's the first OP, from 1931. Yes, it's a pity they don't make them like that any more.

I was hoping it was yours; it is lovely.

Interestingly enough since the AirKing has been discontinued (as mentioned in the original post) and is now being sold as the OP but without the AK labeling, it's travelled there and back.

I am pretty sure the 115200 is part of the OP line up.
If you click on that link, then go to Oyster Perpetual, the 34mm date is in the sub link.
I think we better let him in. ;)
