Another Would You Trade....Anniversary Sub (Kermit) for SkyDweller
I have an M series full package anniversary sub (the Kermit) which I have an opportunity to trade for a SkyDweller (choice of white or black dial) with a small cash adjustment. Prices of the anniversary sub are getting out of control so is it worth capitalizing on the craziness to take advantage of this. I do have another sub so I won't be without one!

If you prefer the Sky D to the LV, why not?
That being said, I’d probably look to keep the LV, flip the other Sub and pay more cash for the Sky D. |

Define "small cash adjustment"....
Also, I sold mine a few years ago and have regretted it ever since. I would give anything to get that one back. Wait to get one without trading up, IMHO.

Well first question is whether you actually want a SkyDweller and with the specific configuration or just interested due to current limited availability. Personally i would keep the Kermit

If you can get a good price on the Kermit and you already have a replacement, why not. Time to book profits.

I’d keep the LV and save up for the Sky Dweller.

Nope. Wouldn't even remotely consider it.
Just buy the Sky, if you want it. |

I’d trade the other sub with a larger cash adjustment if you could manage that, but appreciate that will be quite a chunk of cash.
Otherwise if you love the skyD and are not wearing the Kermit then why not but obvs make sure you love it before you do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My opinion is that one should try to avoid selling or trading a watch unless you absolutely dislike it, or maybe if you have too many in your collection. If you're enjoying your current watch, try to hold onto it, then save and buy the next one outright.

If I liked and owned a Kermit I would try to keep it and add a Sky Dweller. This is my approach to collecting - add, don't churn - unless I've made a big mistake. I know many prefer to flip upwards or sideways. Each to our own.
I prefer the Sky Dweller to the 16610LV, and by no small margin. I have no special attachment to the Kermit (back in the day, I tried one on at my AD and passed) and do not keep watches based on future value. |

It depends upon if one can keep the Kermit.
If the Kermit is one of the earliest complete with box, papers and anchor, then I would sit on it unless one is over it. |

Sky-Dweller is a great watch without a doubt but does nothing for me.
On the other hand 16610 is like Porsche 911. Why would you trade an icon?

If you’re more fond of the skydweller than the sub 50th anniv, sure! Seems like a fair trade. In the end, you should always go for what you like.
That being said, I wouldn’t trade the sub for the skyd if I was in the same situation. The look of the skyd just doesnt work for me plus the sub 50th anniv is definitely a keeper with its more compelling historical significance imho Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
