I wouldn't be happy with that. I just got a 2012 preowned HH dress piece from a private first owner in a much better condition than this.

This is unacceptable, how a watch can come out of their living room in this state 🥺

Not a good deal. A new watch is a new watch

sad to say that watch has been used. maybe 1 or two light hairlines could be attributed to handling marks but this is too much

I returned the watch. Spoilt the PP experience to be truthful.

Very sad to say. Once the watch leaves the store its a swearing contest as where scratches occur, but in you case with the worn strap and marks all over it is very unlikely you did it. Glad to hear you were able to return it.

Any details on how the return process went? I know I'm late to the party. But I invested a fair amount of time in reading this entire thread and am really intrigued on the details for how it was handled.

Or did PP or the AD ask you not to post any further in this thread?

New watches from AD should not be a game of chance, also glad OP has returned it. The strap is the weirdest part, as all ADs I have been to are super careful about it.

That said, Rolex did manage to leave a hairline scratch on my brand new clasp when I went to get my OF changed. I didn't bother to complain about it as I know they would just offer to polish it off.

No follow up from PP whatsoever.

I asked them to send a courier to collect. On arrival they inspected it and called me for a refund a day or two later I recall. The dealer ended up TAKING full payment rather than a refund. Thankfully they realised their mistake on the phone...

Wow, talk about the icing on the cake...

I'm glad it ultimately resolved. Has it soured from you PP entirely? Did you source another? Any future plans now?

TY for the followup!

I THINK your AD was lying to you. (My opinion only)
More than likely this was a display model that was handled a lot and tried on a lot.
This would also explain strap wear / creases. It can only take ONCE to do that.
Some scratches are likely due to people wearing bracelets and trying on the watch.

Make 'em take it back. They are otherwise taking advantage of you.

Hasn't soured me from PP but the dealer could have been better.

There isn't much in the line up now that is attainable tbh.

Just read this whole thread. I certainly hope you are going to start fresh with another AD. Given that you have no history with this one, except bad history, you might as well start from scratch with someone who hasn’t already disappointed you. Good luck! Buying something as expensive, fine, and unnecessary as a Patek should be nothing but fun.

I think micro scratches can happen if the watch was displayed and some customers came in to view/try on the watch for size.

As for the strap; I had a quality issue with mine. The watch was unsealed in front of me, so I am sure no one else had touched the watch prior. I wore it 3 times, before I noticed an issue. My SA told me it could be our climate (tropical), but for a watch less than a week old, worn 3 times... was poor reasoning.

In any case, my SA escalated this to PP SC and they have agreed to replace the strap only -- which I am agreeable too.

Bad form!

Cortina usually provides a complimentary strap with each purchase. Make sure you get a spare one.

Is this standard across all Corinas across the world? I have not heard of it, nor did I get one.

I can imagine you would only get the free strap if your watch was on display in the window, sunlight can change the colour and with different customers trying the watch on a new strap would be needed
