50th anniversary bracelet on 1861 case

So what is the consensus on being able to attach a 50th anniversary bracelet on to a 1861 speedmaster case? I recall seeing a few threads where some used separate endlinks while others just put it straight on, leaving a slight prominence on the underside of the case. Anyone have any recent experience trying one way or the other? (photos always appreciated) :)

The key is springbars (from DeVilles) You don't need to modify anything. Decent fit with a little protrusion on the endlinks.

1.6mm thickness correct? Safe to use this without damaging lug holes?

Not 1861, but here are pics on the 3861 with the end links that came with the 50th anniversary bracelet..

Fits the 300m too!

It fits fine. The new 3861 bracelet no longer has flanks. It won't scratch the lugs with wear. Home run and very comfortable.

The flat link bracelet looks better on almost everything.

Even on an AT you think considering the polished links are not on the middle?

Well that's maybe a different story, I just like that it has a taper while until recently the Speedmaster lacked and the Seamaster 300M still lacks.

So you got the 50th bracelet to fit both the SMP and the 3861 without using uncle seiko end links? How?

I don't know the sizing since the boutique took care of it for me. I do know they are from DeVilles. No problem with lug holes I can see. Model number is 0068stz005815.

Interesting, so it sounds the bracelet will fit the 1861 case right away and stay secure without any modification (but with a little bit or lug protrusion), though extra springbars may be helpful?

UPDATE

Ordered the 50th bracelet, tried to get it on the 1861 case it it really wasn’t cooperating. Ordered the Uncle Seiko 20mm flat link solid end links so I will try those out. I imagine that realistically this will give the best fit of all.

I ordered too and found out the solid end links don’t fit - have to get hollow.

That said, I got it on my seamaster with a little bit of lovin’ but am having trouble sizing it. Ordered new micro screwdrivers so hopefully those work.

The US solid links don’t fit? On the case or the rest of the bracelet? And for a 1861?

They don’t fit on the a50 bracelet. I think they only work on the us bracelet not oem. The hollow do fit though.

Son of a gun lol. Well, I’ll get the hollow ones then haha

Anyone try it on a 1861 with OEM end links but a 1.6mm spring bar?

Ok so here it is - the a50 bracelet on the 1861 Speedmaster pro hesalite.

As you’ve probably gathered if you’ve read this far, the a50 did not fit perfectly in my opinion with the oem end links. I got it in, the spring at sat tight, but there was a bit of a step down from the watch case onto the bracelet so it wasn’t perfectly smooth.

Ordered the uncle seiko end links (hollow as trippinjimmy suggested above - thanks for the tip!). They fit the a50 bracelet and the 1861 very well. Here’s a close up showing the very smooth transition from case to US end links to a50 bracelet.

So that’s that - the a50 fits the 1861 case, but a perfect fit can be had with the addition of uncle seiko hollow end links. Wish the oem end links were perfect, but I’d rather it look perfect.

Overall this bracelet feels light as a feather (like surprisingly so), but very strongly built with excellent attention to detail. Very comfortable to wear - has that new bracelet squeak that will need some wear time to work in lol. The clasp especially looks very high end. Rightly so - the other watches with this bracelet are the $10,000 Apollo 11, and the $14,000 Ed White 321. So far I really like it.

Im massively in the minority here. But the curves and round edges of the speedy case in my opinion looks better with the older (1861) speedy bracelets. These new flat link bracelets simply dont look integrated to my eye and also in the minority, had a fantastic fit-as comfortable as my other rolex watches.

Did you try the OEM solid end links with OEM 1.6mm spring bars?

No I didn’t. I heard from another member that the 1.6mm ones help a bit, but still do not get the fit to be as clean as the US end links with the 1861 case.

Does anyone know if the end links of 50th anniversary flat link bracelet are as good of a fit as the end links from the stock bracelet on the 3861 sapphire sandwich?
Any pictures of the end link from the caseback side?

Thanks!
