Uncle Seiko BB58 “Half Link” Released !

Just in case some of you don’t know about it (and are willing to put a non OEM part on your watch) Uncle Seiko just released last week a “half link” (more of a 3/4 link) for those in between sizes or just looking to better centered the clasp on their BB58 with steel bracelet.

Here installed on 6 side:

Here besides an OEM full size link:

The Uncle Seiko link is 2 MM shorter than the full size OEM Tudor link according to my caliper:

OEM full size 13.33 MM:

Uncle Seiko link 11.31 MM:

Being more of a “3/4” link makes it great to achieve multiple size variations by putting a few on a bracelet .

Think looks good and they are $29 each

Thanks Francisco , this could be a game changer for many people . Great write up & pictures , I have a BB58 & have not had any issues sizing the bracelet or with the comfort but I know many people have commented & posted on the BB58 bracelet .

Thanks Paul !

I did not had fitting issues neither but decided to buy a pair to play and perhaps find an even better fitment. They seem to be well built and the steel brushing looks pretty similar to the OEM

Half link is good. But if only US can come up with a ratcheting or glidelock clasp for the BB58, I bet it will sell like hot cakes.

Great detective work, Francisco!

I don't need a 1/2 link but nice to know they are available.

Thank you so very much for this! Game changer for sure! Too bad Tudor didn't have the forethought to support half links!

Ordered mine last week.

If the half link helps me get a better fit then I won’t be so bothered about getting a Sub, I only really wanted one because of the glidelock.

I just got mine the other day. I can report that the link is well made and finish matches well to my BB58 blue bracelet. The only thing I can say is that the two included screws are very difficult to thread the first time. I didn’t want to force them, so I stopped and contacted Larry from uncle seiko. He responds quickly and is great to talk too. He suggested lubricating the screws and it worked great. The screws tend to sit a little deeper into the link than oem. The oem tudor screws are easy to thread into the 3/4 link. Overall, I feel the link wil perform well and well worth the 29.00 dollars I spent on it. Sorry for the quick response as I am at work and should be focusing on that. Have a good day.

Hi Matt bought a pair of links and have only tried one so far, but threading it was really easy in my case, so either was lucky or yours was missing lubrication

Purchased! BB58 is a great watch, the first for me is either too tight or too loose, regardless of the micro adjustment. This could be the answer!

Great idea and looks well executed. I'm loving the T-Fit clasp on my BB58 Bronze. I think Tudor will certainly use this clasp on SS models soon.

I guess I’ll be finding out by next week. Somehow I missed this was for BB58 and not BB. Quick research says the BB GMT tapers to 18mm while the BB58 tapers to 16mm. Dang.

It is really too bad that Tudor has had no regard for accommodating their customers.
Uncle Seiko has fulfilled an important need.

Same for me although my wife actually bought the BB58 blue.
We wear the same watches, she likes the bracelet loose and I like it snug.

But I could not get this watch to fit me, it was either a bit too tight or way too loose. So I resigned myself to not wearing this, although I really like it.

Thanks to this post, I ordered the link yesterday and look forward to it.

Although it would be nice if Tudor sold a micro link.
Especially since the new BB58 bronze bracelet has a micro adjustment

I suspect we will see the bronze micro adjustment in the stainless bb58 in the future. Tudor is pretty cool, i could see them allowing previous BB58 buyers to buy just the adjustable portion. I’ve learned to wear it a little looser than i prefer, but the micro adjustment would be incredible. The half link will have to do for now.

Yeah, maybe a luck of the draw, but it ended up good. I really love Larry’s dedication to watch enthusiasts out there. I love his ideas and products. His passion reminds of why a lot of us started collecting in the first place.

Nice to see many here ordering the US link. The spacing between the clasp hole positions is 2.9 MM so based on the fact the US link is 2 MM shorter than the OEM FS that yields about 1 MM difference which is enough for most to finally get the right size

I’ve fitted mine. Before I had the micro adjustment set to the furthest position on the 12 side and now it’s set to the first position on the 6 side.

The extra 1mm has definitely made a big difference and I’ve now got the option of extending by 2 positions if needed.

I wore it in bed last night which is about as warm as my wrist gets and the fit is far better than without the half link.

When the BB58 blue was released I put my name down for one. When I went to pick it up the AD had a black in stock so I ended up buying both of them.

Unfortunately my initial excitement was marred by the fact that I could not get the clasp to centre properly on my wrist and it was either too loose or too tight. In the end I sold the black one and gave the blue to my daughter.

As soon as US released the half link I ordered one and even before that had arrived I snagged a pre owned BB58 black. They both got delivered on the same day, fitted the link on the 6 o'clock side and I'm now well pleased.

Big up to Uncle Seiko for making this, and now to have a quick word with my daughter

My 2 links arrived today. Rang my local Rolex dealer who is becoming a Tudor dealer shortly and told them I wanted to add a link to my BB58. No problem they said - just pop in. SA came back with my watch and links and said sorry we can’t fit it the screws are too thick. Fair enough I thought, thanked them and went on my way.

Just out of interest I thought I’d get the watch technician to look at it in the nearby Arcade. No problem he said, watched him take 1 full link out and fit 1 Uncle Seiko link on each side. 15 mins and £10 later job done, fits me absolutely spot on now. Good quality links and many thanks to Uncle Seiko for making them available for BB58 owners.I am suspecting the Rolex Dealer didn’t want to fit them because they knew they weren’t official Tudor links, I wish they would have just said that though because i’d have thought that was fare enough and their right to do so.

On my way back decided to pop back into the dealer, thanked the SA for looking at the bracelet for me earlier and let him know I did manage to get sorted with the links using the screws they cam with thank you. I mentioned I was surprised as I had used his watchmaker for many years and had always found him to be excellent. SA thanked me for the feedback and said he would pass it on to the watchmaker. Most diplomatic I thought! They are nice guys in there, I just wished they’d have been honest with me as I said.
