Some go with Rolex, no problemo.
Some return with no Rolex, problemo.
Some go with no Rolex, no problemo.
I could go onward but if I do, problemo.

Rename the thread to "Is it safe to take a Rolex to Jamaica?" for more clicks.

The real question is whether you will be visiting Ian Fleming's former place, where he wrote his Bond novels?

I would not push my luck, I would wear my cheapest watch to any Third World Country. Costa Rica was great both times, but I would not wear an expensive watch there.....

I’ve been there recently. Outside the resort is pretty sketchy. I’d keep the nice watches at home if you plan on venturing out.

Agree with information above, safe to wear a Rolex but only in resort, just bring one not many. Enjoy! It’s beautiful!

November 2019, I went to Jamaica! Beautiful place and wonderful people! I took my sea dweller and no problem! I walked around Montego Bay, Nine Mile, etc! Ventured into the mountains and what a view of the ocean! Of course went for a swim in the ocean and truly enjoyed the Rolex Seadweller! I did not reach 4K feet / 1220 meters oh well, next time!

Go and enjoy!

Depends on your risk tolerance. Personally I would avoid the risk- here are few reasons:

(1) People are getting killed in NYC for watches. I would think much worse happens in any third world country.

(2) Is it worth enjoying your watch during a vacation? When you have to be worrying about possible threads or not feeling comfortable going places you would go otherwise . Not worth it!

(3) As previously stated- some people get away with it, some don’t!!!

Between the 3, SS Sub if you're staying more or less exclusively at your secure resort.

If you're venturing out, bring out the G-Shock from the bullpen.

Personally, after many travels to Jamaica, I would go to the Cayman's instead.

When I go on holiday anywhere the most important thing is enjoying the holiday and not any watch I would or would not take.Once at my holiday destination could not care about time or any watch I might wear just relax and take up the rays time not important then.

I've been to Jamaica a couple of times. I'd never wear a decent watch there, quite frankly. Most Jamaicans are very nice people, but the crime rate is unfortunately quite high.

I wore my Rolex GMT in London for a week with no issues.

Been there, done that. I wouldn't take a Timex to Jamaica.
