Question regarding 5167 rubber strap

I have two questions:

- is it hard to swap out the rubber strap on the 5167a? I have read conflicting opinion. Or do I just need a correct spring bar tool?
- is the red Singapore edition strap available for order by owner of the plain model?

My 5167 is arriving soon and would like to get extra straps sized so I can share with my wife.

1) Normal Bergeon tools are fine. I’ve removed mine for cleaning before and you can do it all alone at home :)

2) I don’t think you can order it unless you’re an owner of that specific model. Then again, it’s all up to the AD.

Great. I will get a spring bar tool, the squeeze type should work better?

My AD is going to check with Patek and see if the red strap can be bought.

Thanks for the reply.

Not a big issue with the proper Bergeon tool.

I think the only straps available at an AD will be the black and the brown strap. To order the straps (khaki and red) for limited editions your AD will need to provide a valid serial number of a limited edition 5167A.

So will a Bergeron 7825 or this Horofix work?

Yeah. I have been told by several AD’s that they can only order black or brown for the 5167

That's what I expects too but I saw someone here posted his 5167 with the red strap so I figure out that it won't hurt to ask.

We will probably end up ordering the 5268R for my wife as she wants a white strap. But somehow she is attracted more to the Aquanaut than the Nautilius.

I did and only found videos on how to size the strap but not swapping the strap. But I guess the tweezer type spring bar tools should work.

youre right. burgeon tool works great. use blue tape to mask off lugs. take your time. its fun doing it on your own as long as you have the right tools. good luck!
