i would keep the daytona and unload the batman and one of the others for new smurf.

Going price now, daytona for smurf would be adding a few more thousand.

Yes, I would in a heartbeat. A full PM watch is something else. Dangerous road, I don’t care much for SS anymore

I would pass the offer instead request for a Pepsi/Panda.
That adds more variety to your current collection without burning a hole in the pocket (assume you can get it at retail)

If you really want a PM, go for Platona or JM Daytona, once for all.

Ps: Sorry if making you even more confused

Not a fan of jubilee gmt or the white dial Daytona tbh. Love the black more. My other flirtation would be an oysterflex skydweller with rhodium dial in rose!

My only concern is that a Daytona easily dresses up. Not sure that white gold sub does. I fixate on weddings I never get invited to as all my friends are married! Maybe I just buy a dress watch for those occasions!

From daily practicality, gold watches are softer and more prone to scratches/dents

If you really want a PM jewellery, simple just get a gold bangle

None of this is worth the money! My Daytona isn’t worth £25000. It’s all about what you like I suppose. For me it’s all based on 21mm bracelet and glidelock and there isn’t anything else! I don’t like bluesy or the black gold sub.

Other option is a rose gold skydweller on flex.

My wife’s ym37 in rose gold is so nice, the pm warmth attracts me

Also, from a collection standpoint, sometimes less is more, meaning a two-for-one trade can often be smart and very satisfying. (I'd also probably sell one of your other Subs.)

I find it funny that on so many Daytona threads on this forum, many guys are like "I don't get it," "Such an overhyped watch," "Stupid money being paid for them," etc .... But when a guy suggests trading a Daytona, a lot of guys say, "Oh, no, don't get rid of your Daytona, that's crazy. Anything but the Daytona!"

I think that’s more to do with appreciation of value, I’m not really bothered about that, I buy these things for joy. This post of yours is my favourite one so far as it’s making me do things I know I want to do!

Only other option was a rose gold skydweller with rhodium on flex? Any opinion?

Not really! Too much cash! Only thing I could do is save for a year and just sell Batman. But that would be way too sensible

I have and love that sub. It’s amazing! I don’t think I’d part with that black Daytona though (another favorite of mine). That’s another amazing piece! I’d let go the Batman, sub or Sub LV go without much reservations though.

i would personally never do this trade but you are saying Daytona is too small and you don't really care about the GMT so go for it!!

The 126619LB is one of my favorites in my collection. I would trade 2 SS for it. Maybe both SS Subs for it and keep the BLNR and Daytona.

No way, just buy the new one. You will lose too much trading. If you cannot afford the watch, then do the correct thing and don't buy it

Should I sell two watches to buy a 126619LB ?

You will regret over it if you do the trade

He already knew how is he going to execute the trade, he just wanted to gather guts and agreements from those who said yes to the crazy trade on Daytona, Batman.

To me, that is defying all the logics and the fact that he has owned a Sub.

Look, I’m not much of a hype guy, so to me, the Daytona is mainly one thing… too small to truly look good on my wrist. I get from your post that you might have a similar feelings towards it, despite the fact it is a nice object on its own.

What good is a watch you don’t love wearing, however good it might look off wrist?

That’s the reason I turned down the Daytona when my AD offered me one for purchase many years ago.

And that’s the reason I’d encourage you to go for it.

Watches should be worn, so go and get what you’d like to wear.

As to Sub vs SkyD, I personally would go for the Sub. To my eyes, the SkyD does not belong on an Oysterflex, while full RG is too ostentatious to truly be elegant. The Sub is leagues better, it’s the sophisticated choice, as only folks in the know will truly get what it is.

Why? You can easily live without either of these watches. The BLNR is not the greatest watch Rolex has ever made and the Daytona, while admittedly a very pretty watch, is so small that on many wrists, it doesn’t truly fit. That presents the relevant owners with the dilemma of “do I love it because I love having a Daytona” or “do I not love it because I’d like to have a watch that fits me”… either side of this dilemma you come down on is legitimate, but if we’re talking what is reasonable, I’d argue going for a choice that’s nice to wear rather than merely nice to own is better, not worse.

Keep the Daytona. I have compared both watches in person. The daytona is a flashy piece. At the moment you have variety with the GMT & Daytona.

All day long. I did similar for the discontinued WG Sub and no other watches now get much wrist time any longer. If you could care less about the hype like I did then you will not have a single regret. Once you wear a WG Sub everything else just seems inferior.

Now if you are into the hype like a majority here then most will tell you not to do the trade because they think the Daytona is the best watch in the world with the BLRO and BLNR a close second and third.

I would keep the Daytona and get rid of the BLNR and another watch. I love the black Daytona. I have the new WG sub and it is such a cool watch. Love the wider bracelet, larger case and thinner lugs. I sold my smurf for the new wg sub.

x2 I grabbed a 116619 in July and it's fantastic (sold my AP Diver white dail/blue accents plus a bunch of cash).
But, I'm not a daytona fan... not at all. Wears small, no date, screw down pushers

I agree, I actually like the fact that people will just think it’s a sub, it would make me less worried about wearing it as many will think it’s just steel. I like the under the radar aspect
