The NEW GMT II Coke will be a sensation!!
Ooooo that juicy red hand!! I can't contain myself!!

Apparently Rolex are stockpiling them now, honest, it's true. A bloke in the pub told me.

Has there ever been a FAD produced by Rolex? Has a specific model ever been released only to be discontinued soon after? Apart from the anniversary sub, which was meant to be a limited time watch from the beginning, I believe this is unherd of.

It's hot now because it is relatively new. I believe Rolex will at some point offer a red/black combo and maybe even a red/blue combo. Once these arrive, I bet it will be much easier to find a BNLR.

I really hope it is a fad...I saw one at an AD in the Bahamas and am a huge fan. I plan on picking one up in the next couple of months and I would love it to fall out of favor quickly so I can get a better price :-) !

Not a fad, just the "in" watch at the moment. This will change as time goes on and as the lists get smaller. Then the next GMT color combo will take over.

Glad I've got all the GMT colors I want now.

Only if people stop liking the colors blue and black. The watch isn't for me, but I can see the appeal.

When LVc came out people were in line to get one. Now they are easy to find. Same with BLNR

This is a common reaction and was even more severe with the platinum Daytona, but familiarity does not breed contempt on this forum, only surprise does.

I prefer vintage GMT's over the black ceramic or the bruiser.

The numbers on the ceramic dial are just to imposing for my liking.

IMHO, the truth will be somewhere in-between. Bezel insert for $50-$80? No. Complete spare bezel to swap for about $1000? Perhaps.

I love my BLNR, BUT... If the Pepsi-C is released, AND it looks as stunning as the photoshops make it seem, I'll consider spending 1k for a Pepsi-C bezel when spares start hitting the market. True, a little more work to change out the entire bezel, but that will give me an excuse to keep it clean.

Personally though, I'm sticking to my story that if a Pepsi-C is released, it will be a white gold, or platinum special anniversary edition. Pay up, suckers...

It likely has the delrin ring that has to be replaced each time the bezel is removed. I don't think you can source those.

Not a fad. It is what it is: A standard model in the Rolex line up.

Personally, I'm waiting for a Pepsi ceramic. And if they build a root beer, that would be cool. Think I have more chance of a Pepsi.......

When the Coke ceramic bezel comes out we have the future classic.

Give it two years and fever is over. Then you'll get 10-15-% off like any other watch

They would be crazy not to bring out a Pepsi version. Just a question of when.

I don't think that Rolex is really in the business for fad watches..

The BLNR is simply the latest release and is seeing the same demand as the 114060, 116610, and the 116710 ceramics before it. It's a great watch and one that fills the void for those who have or have had the others..

Next year they will likely release another "must have", like a cheaper ceramic Daytona..

Agree with Tools. It's a GMT for gosh sakes so it is destined to be popular. The only question is if you like the two tone bezel more than the all black.

As for being "coveted" in the sense some are having difficulty getting them right now well, the pipeline isn't completely filled. At that point it will be coveted in the same way the LN in coveted, a watch many people would like to have some day if not now.

I absolutely adore my BLNR. I picked up the last one in Toronto at Yorkdale AD and they still don't have any, about 18 people waiting.

That is, a "fad" that is enduring and with no end in sight.....
If that's true then I'd better get the BLNR too...

Super line up! They look so good and prove just how enduring these Rolex "fads" can be.

The BLNR would slot in very, very nicely.

That should all be explained in the booklet, if you received one.
