I plan to have my collection sold, hopefully to people who appreciate Rolex; and then donate the proceeds to charity. Unfortunately no one in my family has the passion I do for Rolex and they view watches as "status symbols" only which pisses me off to no end.

My Son and Daughter. My Son is almost three, so it will a while before he is ready for watches. He has taken a liking to my Submariner Date. Maybe that will be the one he ends up with. My Daughter is three months old, so we will see what sparks her interest down the road.

I told the wife I wanted to be buried with my Rolexes and high-end knives. She laughed and said I could be buried with the knives, but the Rolexes were hers when I'm gone.

Yep!

Right now I have one spoiled infant - even had a special Dornbluth made for him. Trying for another so he can fight for which.

I have 1 Rolex, and 1 Son and 1 Daughter.

I have other watches, but the BLNR is the crown jewel.

Most likely will pass it on to my son, who loves nice watches (and has an Omega Seamaster).

My daughter will get some of my other passion possessions...guitars, music gear and the like.

Unless I get another Rolex!

My six year old does the same. He also likes to get under the covers to look at the lume.

One day my kids will get my watches.

A Breitling

I've been saving a few of those NOS Breitling Datoras with the stickers on the back for a future son. We keep having girls! Last one is on the way so fingers crossed. If another girl is on the way then I'm selling them for a vintage convertible. :)

My son will get all my toys, of course. Not taking them with me although now that I think of it there isn't a more appropriate place for an auto-wind than eternity.

Well what I did for maximum enjoyment for me and my family is I gave my kids all my SS and TT watches now. This way every time we get together it is a small GTG
They love them I love them and honestly see and enjoy them much more than a long drawn out rotation, just my plan

They get the precious metals when I die!

Nice family photo, Doc. But it looks like the Yachty II is giving the Hulk an indian burn. Put some salve on that.

For all of you guys that have little ones, and for the gals , specifically talking about small children.. Why not get them their very own watches now? I found Swatch had a great selection to choose from and I bought my niece (2.5 yrs) & nephew (4.5 yrs) their own. Both of them wear it to amuse me, but also have been enamoured to watch my brother put his watches on. But then they get excited to see that they match the rest of the family. My nephew has the Spiderman black bezel watch and he loves that the bezel rotates. Says his is better than his fathers Omega Seamaster Pro..

I would love to have the collection sold and the profits donated to charities. I really hope to leave no money behind unless I go before my wife.

That is a good call for sure. We did that when our boys were little and they enjoyed them.

I don't think anyone is saying our kids should not ever have a watch until we're dead and gone, LOL. I recently passed my 16610 on to my son for his college graduation and it certainly wasn't the first watch he's ever owned. I'm sure he will get more of mine or I'll give him a new one sometime in the future for one occasion or another. But unless we give them all away and are watchless ourselves when we pass, we will have at least one left in our possession to pass down.

What I'm not sure about is why anyone would NOT hand down their prized possessions if they have loved ones to pass them to.
