Finally decided and ordered

Of course everyone already knows that I am getting a sub LV, will just have to wait a while, my grey dealer doesn't have one in stock, found one used for 6.000 euros, but if I wait with his discount and detax I will have it brand new for 5.500 euros. For the other watch, well I was ready to order a Royal Oak, this one to be precise

https://www.chrono24.fr/audemarspigu...m&watchTypes=U

But I am having an argument with my wife who absolutely wants me to get the Blancpain, the link is just to show the ones who haven't been following, it's the same watch, just not this one, the one that I would be getting is priced 11.800 euros...

https://www.chrono24.fr/blancpain/l-...arch/index.htm

Thought it was decided but apparently not, and since I can't cancel my new thread, you guys are in real time on the argument with my wife, will tell you at the end of the day who won

That's right, either Blancpain and a happy wife, or AP and an angry wife

why would the wife want you to get the BP over the AP? I can't see a sensible argument there

I thought you recently said you fell in love with the Blancpain, which was why you were trying to sell two other watches?

Well I am but trying to take into account a few things, one of them being the possibility of resale, which is practically impossible with the BP, also the fact that in 1 year we are going to go live in Thailand, and with big heat a metal bracelet is a Major plus, in Paris it's really hot right now, this morning I went out with my Pam 233 on leather strap, it was hard as you sweat a lot with leather…

Of course if to just take into account personal preference I go for the BP, even though the AP is really nice also, that's the problem when I start thinking about different watches, I can think straight, if to decide with the heart I go BP, if to decide with my head I go AP… Anyways the decision will be made today… :bang head:

At least with the sub LV I don't have any problem deciding, it's coming in for sure...

By the way the original Blancpain that I fell in love with on paper was the rose gold 40mm version, but saw it in real and it's not nice, the one with which I fell in love with in the real life is SS and I can get it for 11.600 euros, so in fact don't even really need to flip anything to get it, here is a page where you can see it, it looks 10 times better in real than on pics, well maybe not 10 times but you get it

On pics it looks a little bit like a kind of cheap watch and not very good quality, but in real it's just the opposite, you really see and feel the quality...

Gotta say, that particular BP ain't my cup of tea. But if you love it, buy it and join the ranks of happy campers who did what they wanted to do.

Here's a pic to show you what the back looks like, even though if I get it won't get the gold version, the SS is nicer, on retail it goes for 20.450 euros, the one I can get is like new, would say 98%, and for 11.600...

Bernard watch has the SS BP for $11K U.S. (I think it's the one you want). Don't know if they ship to Europe, though.

Thanks for the info, just contacted them, asked if they do shipping in Europe, the price is very interesting, need to see the tax amount that I will need to pay if I buy from them, the other I found at 11.600 is in Spain, so no added tax…

Anyways thanks again for the info.

If they do ship to Europe it's super interesting, with tax it will be 9.800 euros, and I did a check up on their reputation it's excellent, so comfortable there, many people say that their "like new" watch from them was really like new, and it's what they say about this one, maybe they will want me to pay extra for the shipping, but even like that it should be much cheaper than through the company in Spain. At this price I am sure to buy the BP, will post results when they answer or when I get them on the phone.

Thanks a lot for the info

You didn't get it, the rolex is coming in for sure, but there's also either a BP or an AP, in all there will be 2 watches, the problem is between the BP and the AP, not with the sub

Congrats on the LV! It's a thing of beauty.

Just get the BP, we've tried to talk you out if it but surely that's not going to happen. plus your wife will feel she won!

That Blancpain is quite hideous. I would get the AP in this case. A classic and much more aesthetically pleasing.

I agree that on picture they are hideous, but in real they are great, the ones that I really liked at first in rose gold looked IMO super on photo but in real were hideous, go understand...

Just passed order for the wire transfer, thanks a bunch for the tip, as with shipment, VAT I am getting them for 2000 euros less than the one which was in Spain, if you hadn't given me the tip would have gone for the OP, for the TRF members' general satisfaction

I do agree that it's a watch which looks horrible on pics but great in real, usually watches are always better in real than on pic, but never to such extent, when I saw them on pics I really didn't like but in real they are really nice

Early Grats !! Which ever u go for !!

I'd personally go AP, wearing mine today for u

I was going to wear my LV but I'm going to wait till u get urs and we'll celebrate it together

What I love about the RO series is the brushed finished but polished edges , all the way down to the bracelets
Up close it is not as eye catching till u move ur hands around then it blings

That and quality and designs are superb !
Simple elegant sophisticated yet sporty and dressy

And who cares if others think bp is hideous
People think my WG GMT is hideous but I love it. Haven't looked back since I bought it

RO's are very well made and I understand the general opinion because when I saw them on photo I also thought that they are hideous, it's when I saw them in real that I really liked them, on photo they really look cheap, in real completely different story, I searched the web and the different photos I found go from hideous to not super, never saw such a difference between pics and the real thing.

Especially my grey dealer from who I hesitated to get a RO, told me to avoid because they have 25% return for malfunctions on new watches, whereas Blancpain are flawless quality wise, and this from a dealer who has the RO's on sale and not the BP, but I know him well so he is very honest with me about the pieces he has or he can get…

25% return on a high profile manufacture is incredible IMO, Blancpain has something which I don't think many have, 1 watchmaker makes 1 watch from A to Z.

Thanks for the LV as soon as I get it I tell you so that we wear it on my first day

I guess it will be at the beginning of September, he doesn't work in August since his suppliers don't have any won't be before then, saw it again today on a shop owner, it's really nice, again a watch that some really don't like, but as you say who cares what others think, the important is to please yourself

if you really want it, i say get it out of your system and get it.
Other wise you'd regret never getting it. lol i sweat nights when i don't get what i really wanted and could have and pass up on a great opportunity

exciting week for both of us I presume, are you heading out to your dealer to take another look at that BP ?

My Dealer just emailed me yesterday with a pic, saying I should grab it since it's something I've been asking them so much about lol.

I'm heading there tomorrow morning ASAP after work
