Sounds like a good time! Enjoy the WG sub, it is beautiful. Beat that thing up; a Rolex deserves no less.

I like having both SS and PM but if I were a one watch guy (I wish) it would be the 116719.

You don't always drink beer, but when you do, you prefer Dos Equis?

Cool post and great watch, thanks for sharing

Definitely true. WG and Platinum are in a league of their own and no steel watch feels like one. While all 3 look white, they have different hues. They are subtle but can be recognized with exposure. Gold is extremely shiny and not even high polished SS can really ever look like it. If you look at the WG hands on any modern Rolex you can see the different hue and how much shinier it is.

Yeah. PM Rolex should always be bought for a nice 20-30% discount whenever possible. I can't think of any that retain anywhere near MSRP even over a decade. They do better than Day Dates and such but nowhere near to how well SS sports models retain value. The DDs are like S500s imo. The newest models are the luxury pieces and the older you go while still nice they just aren't as desirable with a stretched President and without the hidden clasp.

Great read, and behind all the humor there is a solid truth I also thought about. And that is as much as I love all my watches, I really don't want to be tempted to get one just yet, and have it blow all my others out of the water. Out of mind, out of site for now.

Too further my case, been happily married almost 20 years, and I don't go to strip-joints or such. MMMMMMM, can you make the connection----
