The 5320G and 5172G take similar design cues for lugs, case, numerals and hands, so dial-side, it’s probably cream vs matte blue and of course the complication. But movement-side, I have to say that the 5172G is the better proposition for me.

When I see it. Anything can happen between now and then. My biggest worry is Patek discontinuing the model. And I was lucky to be able to waitlist on this.

Early congrats for getting on the 5740 waitlist. A few weeks back, I’d witnessed a customer at my AD picking up a 5740 and heard that the same customer just picked up a 6301P the day before, so I would imagine that it’s not an easy list to get on.

Hence the note: "when I see it". It is a very special watch and I trust my AD. I would feel very blessed when I take delivery but until then...

I am actually more excited about the 5320 as it speaks to my whole family and not just me. I made a list of 4 Perpetuals and all of us voted for this one. The 5740 will be the capstone of my Nautilius collection which at present is a collection of one. :-)

5320 is a good example of “love is a journey not a first sight”, you wil not regret for sure. Best wishes for your waitting!

i had 5320G and 5270P incoming last week. while the 5270P is surely the more spectacular watch i have to say that as a daily the 5320G is preferable for me. highly legible, wears less thick than the 5270, large running second hand (which i like), less cluttered dial and finally it is an automatic. if you don't wear the 5270 for two days you are up for 10min work to set the PC - if you are a nerd like me at least.
the 5320 goes on the winder and game over. clearly the last issue does not apply to the hand wound Chrono 5172G - a watch which i really like as well.

I got the Lange chronograph bug and was considering between the Datograph or the Datograph Perpetual. I think I finally talked myself out of the Datograph Perpetual for the same reason. (I also like the black on platinum case better too) It would be a pain to reset the watch even with the sync feature. Looks like I may pass on the 5172 if I go with Datograph. :-)

But both are gorgeous watches.

Congrats on the incomings! As beautiful as the 5270P can be, I understand the 5270P can be quite a chore to set the PC. When the 5236P came up last week, I couldn’t resist and ask my AD to put me on the waitlist, I guess with a 5172G and a 5236P in future, I would have the equivalent of a PCC and with 5236P on a winder like your 5320G, I won’t need to set the PC.

Both of those coming in on the same day is epic.

Congrats, and enjoy in the greatest of health. :)

Your bundled piece is still forthcoming, I presume?
