How has the RO evolved/improved from the 5402 to the 15400?

So I have read the things to know sticky and many of the other threads about Royal Oaks but I am curious as to what has improved with newer movements and references...
I see a lot of the issues are surrounding the 5402 and the quartz versions, are there any issues other than service expense and bezel scratches that still make the 15300 or the 15400 a headache to own at times?
