Just ordered my AP RO 15400 from a great local AD!!

Hey guys!
I've been roaming these forums for a while, but had never posted or contributed ....hoping to change that!
I had lusted over the AP RO 15400 Blue Dial for a while, but after seeing/trying on both the Blue and Silver dials...the Silver dial just did it for me!! I had hoped to pick one up before the Jan 1st price increase, but couldn't work out a deal, I was comfortable with, with the ADs I visited. Until today, when I went over to Hing Wa Lee Jewelers** AD over in San Gabriel, Ca. A bit of a drive (from the LAX area) but I must say, if you live anywhere near LA, this place is a dream! Beautiful space full of high-end brands, and great staff. Check them out if you get a chance.

So, I met with one of the sales agents, May, and mentioned that I was ready to make a purchase, and just needed to work out a price. I ended up doing a package deal adding a 31mm Silver Stick Dial Datejust (ref: 178274) on a jubilee bracelet for my fiancée, and can say that I'm very happy with the final purchase price. I look forward to do more business with them in the future. Unfortunately, they didn't have either watch in stock, but I didn't mind, as long as they get them in before my wedding in March. The watch is my gift (to myself) for the wedding, and the Datejust is my gift to my fiancée. I think the RO will go well with my suit

**Not sure what the forum rules are about mentioning specific AD's. So if it's an issue, please let me know and I'll remove it.

There is no "think" about it, it IS going to look "STUNNING" with the suit. Congrats on getting hitched buddy

Thank you guys, I appreciate it. The wedding is costing me an arm and a leg, but at least the one arm I have left will be sporting the RO, haha.

I will of course upload pics of it once it comes in!

I've heard from several owners that they are very prone to scratches, any additional care/upkeep details are appreciated.

Congratulations on the RO as well as your upcoming wedding

Advice is to practice wrist awareness before the AP arrives. It's a semi odd behavior not exhibited while wearing a Rolex that involves various arm motions to protect you watch as you walk through doorways, get out of cars etc

That and take solace knowing AP will make it right when service time comes.

Congrats! Guess what my wedding watch was this past Sept (and which is on my wrist today)... Silver AP 15400.

You will develop odd behaviors with it. I refuse to walk near other people on the left side and if I can't avoid it for whatever reason, I swing my left arm in front of me. I call it 'watch protection mode'.

I know David Lee and have been to his stores and have bought watches from him as well. The San Gabriel store is amazing! He also has a beautiful store in Walnut as well.
He's also a well known Ferrari collector - amazing collection.
Post pics when you receive.

Yea, I didn't realize how much of collector he is until I did some googling. David has a SERIOUS collection. The five from his collection that he took to Monterey are unreal. And he actually drives them, not just for show. I've heard he's very personable

One of my groomsmen does Concours d'Elegance level restorations on classic Ferraris, Jags, etc and would to get them (David and him) in touch with each other to do some business or at the very least some car events together. He used to do a lot of work with the Ferrari Club of America here in LA, so I'm wondering if they've met before.

Yea I was at Monterey when he was displaying his 5 Ferraris at Quail.
