Incoming!!!

My watch ADD is bad... real bad! Wore the Newman Daytona for less than 48 hours, decided wasn't for me. I'd rather wait for a good deal on an Everose, yellow gold just is not my thing... But instead, I can now afford two good steel watches. Just bought one today, it will be here TOMORROW. Here is a hint - anyone knows what it may be? Anyone cares?

You have insider info - that's cheating LOL

Yes, DeepSea is one, but I haven't found it at a good price yet. The GV - I'll hold off one. The hint is the picture, Oscar!

That one is not on my site, but it is, indeed an IWC. It is the (hard to find) Ingenieur Plastiki, named after David de Rothchild's 'adventure'. Here's more information from the official website, I thought it was fascinating!

"Plastic yachts anyone? Swiss watch brand IWC Schaffhausen continues on its eco-responsibility journey, this time through a partnership with adventurer David de Rothschild. This complements their efforts to aid conservation on the Galapagos Islands via the Aquatimer collection. In June 2009, de Rothschild will be setting out – with scientists and professional crew in tow – on a journey across 10,000 nautical miles on a boat made almost entirely of recycled plastic bottles.

The 60-foot Plastiki is a catamaran that de Rothschild hopes to use to highlight the creative possibilities of recycling waste and as well as what he sees as a fun adventure to save the environment. “We can make saving the planet an adventure,” said de Rothschild. IWC’s Ingenieur Automatic Mission Earth Edition “Adventure Ecology” will follow de Rothschild on his wrist as he makes his voyage of ecology. "

Soooo cool!!!

thanks Greg. I knew the watch well and have read the story about it. Tried it on
a couple of times and almost pulled the trigger on it. Loved it watch and the colours but it wore too big on me.
Cant wait to see your wrist shots

Cheers Greg...I knew it wasn't there.

I've had the brochures sent through to me by IWC....I'm a big fan of their watches. Just before the housing market took a slide here I thought about the Sport Laureus Spitfire Chrono (blue) as a daily wearer, even talked to an AD and got a good deal on it...alas it wasn't meant to be.

J- pleasant surprise! IWC's seem to be so rarely discussed here...BTW - that Spitfire is a stunner too! Just wish the case was a little larger...

That is EXACTLY what caused me to get it. Many similarities - iron core, clean dial, great readability... But the IWC has a date function PLUS is 46.5mm, a case I can appreciate!

I really like IWC's, especially some of the pieces from their Vintage Collection. The Big Ingenieur is also an awesome watch with the in-house movement (as is the plastiki). I had a 3227 for a short period of time, and man was it a hunk of steel. Great watch, but I could not get past the crown sticking out the side without the crown guards. Now IWC seems to have fixed that aesthetic issue, but they supersized the cases on the new Inge's. Very nice looking, though.

When this watch was first introduced, the first person that came to mind was.....Jen. Florida Gators colors all over it.

Enjoy your new IWC, Greg. And post lots of pics when you get it on the wrist!

Inge is a great watch. Had an opportunity to handle one at the airport mall in Taipei.

That orange is a hit!
