Look at this video. It probably better represents what the watch looks like. I like it better as it looks less busy. I think I'll go for this one.

The video doesn't talk about the date - so most likely it's not an annual calendar and we need to adjust the date. |

It's 100% not an annual caledar. The date function is a simple caledar and has to be changed periodically. Still, after confirming this- I really like the vintage vibe and will look into acquiring one.

Something about a new PP SS gets people down to the ADs, this is not for everyone but will be for more than they can supply I'm sure.

The likelihood of making money. Aside from a few wis that’s all that’s driving this. If this was white gold nobody would want it and everyone would be picking it apart lol. All in the game I suppose

Part of it is that, but also a large part is the lower price point that just gets even whales interested, this happened with the Pilot and there wasn't quite the speculative fever then that there is now, and that this release went on to help create.

I think Patek is trying to get people excited beyond the nautilus and aquanaut. They have been trying to come out with more riskier references. And i do think this on steel was the right decision.

I like it. It’s one watch I kept going back to at Basel yesterday.

Agreed. Curious to see how it looks with a different strap.

So nobody else gets bugged by the juxtaposed week and month printed on the dial being an approximation, necessary from weeks vs. month shifting year to year?
It'd drive me a bit nuts to have it pointing at the side of one month when it's really another, or pointing at a boundary of two months when it's really the week is fully in a given month. I guess it is that blend of German and French you get from the Swiss sometimes -- Germans love knowing the week, French don't care on the inexactness of the week vs. month against a single hand. |

Now that my excitement has died down a little, I think I will not get this watch. It’s just too expensive compared to the appeal it generates in me.
I really like the complication though, and I look forward to seeing how Patek will use it in forthcoming watches. |

I like it, but not enough to buy it.
Steel complications used to be rare from Patek. As a first for the complication and also being in steel if this has a short production run say 1-3 years I think over time this will do quite well even if initially it's not a big seller. Disclaimer: 5960/1A owner. |

Honestly, I just use a watch for the time and date. But, I also look for a different aesthetic and complication on my wrist. So this still fits the bill for me. I care less about SS. Love the strap, love the contrast between hands and dial- very legible. I'm calling my AD to get on any waitlist they might have.

It’s just an opinion. Not trying to be rude if I came off that way my apologies.

The movement is a notable upgrade though. Interesting to see Patek finally using a stop seconds after all the nonsense about it being an intentional decision not to use it in the past. I also love to see instantaneous changeover as to me that speaks to thoughtful watchmaking.

I find it very nice,
4 AD in UK wouldn’t put me on their waiting list. I am not an existing customer they say. How can I be a customer if none of them wants to sell me a watch. This is getting worse than anything I could imagine. Anyway, congrats to those lucky enough to have a good relationship with their AD. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
