As others have said, this is perfectly normal. My 5146g takes about 90 minutes to change the day as well. Here is mine just before midnight on NYE.

Pretty good for a watch that is approx 20 yrs old.
Does the lume last through the night?
Though not a fan of Roman numerals. I have been thinking about getting either the 5035,5056 or maybe a 5146 in Platinum.
Though, would have to sell a couple of pieces plus cash to achieve
The 5146p is a great AC. It's the only 5146 with simple stick indices instead of mixed Arabic. I think the overall aesthetic is significant enough to justify the added cost.

I also agree with you about the Romans. Not a huge fan except on more formal pieces, and especially dislike using a radial flip, but they do somehow seem to work on the 5035. I owned one myself for a couple of years when they first came out and later passed it along as I moved into PC's. Seemed redundant to have both, otherwise I'd probably still have it.

You guys are all great. Thanks!!! I feel like I'm in a different watch realm now. Did any of you guys feel the same way when you got your first Patek?

You are in a different category for price, finish and aesthetics. Patek does all those well. Many Pateks are elegant and subtle on the wrist. These watches are typically not noticed by the masses ( no arrogance intended) but pop when a WIS sees it. In those situations they are a great conversation piece. This is why I love them. They are wearable art on the wrist able to give you joy many times throughout the day with a simple glance.
Where it in good health. It looks awesome.
Here is my latest acquisition, a 5170G

I think elegant is probably best word to describe it. IMHO

I absolutely love the 5170.

5035 cost

if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? considering getting as i consider it as a "poor man" patek.

Thanks!!!

I bought it from Capetown Diamond in Atlanta. They will honor a lifetime warranty so long as you get it serviced by an authorized ( preferably them ) Patek service center every 4 to 5 years like Patek recommends. [/QUOTE]

Gorgeous! I'm about the pull the trigger on a 5035J as well.
