What do Rolex owners think of Doxa?

...Not in lieu of Rolex, but in addition? I feel you get a lot for your money... Thoughts?

Definetly not a Rolex but a great watch at a really reasonable price. I have a T-Graph Pro and I love it.

I think they look great. I like that Clive has Dirk Pitt wearing one instead of the cliche Submariner.

A respected history, and still here over 100 years later. Nothing wrong with having one whether you’re a Rolex owner, an Omega owner or PP & AP.

How does build quality (bracelet disability, finish, bezel paint, clasp, etc...) measure up to Rolex?

Robert Redford wore one in "Three Days Of The Condor" on a bund strap. That, and Dirk Pitt having one.....I guess I'm gonna have to get two. One with a black dial and one with an orange dial.

Pretty cool watch with the history to go with it. Here's my DOXA 50th Anv, LE Sub300. There're so many other cool watches beside Rolex, I like Rolex but I'm not one-dimensional kind of guy and do like other watches. They hold their price pretty well, I used to have a SUB600 and sold it for how much I paid for it.

What do Rolex owners think of Doxa?

If I remember things correctly, a few years ago there were lots of bashing of Doxa on some of the forums on how the watches and parts are manufactured mostly in China and quality was questionable and such.

To make matters worse, there were reports here and there on poor customer service from Doxa USA.

Hey, you guys would have heard or read about it.
I am not sure how things are holding up for the brand now.

I personally liked their Sub watches, especially the 1200T Pro. Their history and involvement in the Dive industry is also interesting. But I couldn't get myself to spend so much money on a brand with so much questionable reports circulating.

I have a 1200T Sharkhunter and love it. Very comfortable with the BoR bracelet and wears well. Quality is nice and I really don’t have any issues. I think it’s a really nice watch and the price is reasonable. I will say I have heard all the bad stuff about customer service etc etc but I overlook it. Doxa is a regular contributor on WUS and I see them handling situations so really I don’t have an issue with them

I like the look of Doxa watches and have played with the thought of buying one. I have an issue with sales being all internet based unless preowned. I have read the specs for the watches but it would be nice to be able to try the various models on to see which one works the best but no AD's. I may take the plunge without it but it is slowing me down.

It seems that they are very good at holding their value if you decide it's not for you and let's face it, that easily happens with the watches we handle first. You could also post to the forum and find someone who lives in your city and get to handle one.

I just like watches. The name is not as important as the look, function, durability, value. So, I like Doxa.

Love the vintage 300T and the modern LE. Fantastic watch. If memory serves me well our mod Tim also has one. Hope I can find a vintage 300T for me one day.

I'm sold. I think I'm getting one. I have to admit, it's hard to find anything bad on the internet about Doxa. Thanks, guys!

Agree but don't discount the name. This was a watch designed from function first. Designed in consultation with Jaques Cousteau who was so impressed with it he became the sole US Trader of Doxa, hense US Divers logo on US watches. Marine Nationale also used them for a period. The helium valve integrated into a watch was made available to the public for the first time by Doxa. Rolex developed and patented the helium valve technology in partnership with Doxa.

Doxa is great in its own right. They are just not for me. I’m not a big enough guy to pull it off. Plus, the colors are a bit too “adventurous“ for me.

I paid my deposit and am waiting for my new Silver Lung reissue. I've never had one, but the reissues have more vintage proportions, so I think it'll fit well. I'm not into the wild orange or yellow dials, but I dig the silver and blue dials.

If I don't like it, I think the market is there for getting my money back, but I'm hoping that's not the case!
