Let's See Some Sea Dwellers

You just have to love the Sea Dweller. With a bit more mass, it wears like a modern watch, but at a glance it is unmistakably vintage. I just got this one back from ABC Watchwerks a few days ago. They touched up the case and put a NOS superdome crystal on it. I will admit that I was a little late to appreciate the allure of the superdome, but I get it now. This one will share time with my other Great White and my Mk IV DR. I am sure there are some great looking Sea Dwellers out there. Let's see some.

I like your three SDwellers , but I can't stop staring at your DRSD- does it get much wrist time. I've yet to see a DRSD in the wild ...

John, those watches are truly remarkable. You are a very lucky man

Here is my favorite. I will try and take an appropriate picture for this thread tomorrow.

Certainly not vintage, but still a classic in every aspect IMO!

Outstanding John! The new addition looks great, congrats.

Al thanks for the kind words; no the DRSD does not get much wrist time, and I have yet to see one in the wild as well. I have seen some pretty rare watches but never a DR.

Great looking watches everyone.

John thanks... you had me laughing pretty hard. I think the model you purchased in France may be even more rare than you thought. It may be one of the early thin case versions. Ha Ha

John, you know how I feel about your recent addition. The case, insert and dial combine to make it the nicest SD I have seen - the real bonus is that you are wearing and enjoying it daily instead of putting it in the safe

Love these old SD's

Pic of mines but not vintage

Anyone every upgraded\ downgraded from modern SD to vintage SD ?? Regrets ?

Some of these SD's are great looking especially John's DRSD which I realise in a leaque of its own

Did someone say Sea Dwellers???

John, let me say that the word, "Fabulous" does not do those watches of yours justice…!!!

(You are making me reconsider another 1665)

Here are my meager offerings…

7.4 mil 666

My other 7.4 mil

My 8.0 mil…(mk 2 Dial)

My 9.4 mil 666…

My K series 16600…

Russ thanks for the kind words. This one is staying on the wrist. Sam, Rob, Steve, Nathaniel, frosty, and colpol, great looking Sea Dwellers. Ryan wow thanks for the Comex pics. Clay your collection of "666"'s is awesome. I would be surprised if you stopped at 3... and why should you?

Just the one here - a modern 16600 from 1990, which I love and am currently wearing. Great watches, everyone.

The good, the bad, and the ugly :-)

1665, 16600, 116660, and bastardized 16600

BTW, Surely you can pick-out my favorite in the group. It is the one that stands out.......and it's not the blacked-out aberration. That golden patina, sweet superdome..........Rolex just can't duplicate such sweetness with their newest releases. Don't the others just look plain when sitting beside the BEST??
