My wife has a midsize datejust and loves the size, thought the ladies was too small for her. She wore my Exp II to her 20 year reunion and it looked fantastic on her. I also love to see a woman wearing a ball cap and playing golf.

I agree. I think it's HOTT when women wear larger Men's sized watches.. It's their choice to wear them so no complaints here.. Here are a few
of my photo contributions (some maybe borrowed) |

In today's trend of bigger watches, the rolex (sport watches) are right sized for women based on the popularity of 44mm+ watches for men. Don't forget......back in the 70's and 80's rolex sport watches were considered big compared to other brands. I ride motorcycles and I've also seen the trend of more and more women riding Harley's as their husbands/boyfriends have graduated to bigger choppers and custom bikes. Acutually Harley is targeting women riders as their new customer based for growth. I contribute the trend of women wearing and riding men's product to the increase in women in power positions in the corporate world. As the female demographics get more educated and start to take on more senior level jobs they feel the power trip should include a high end watch that the powerful male counterparts wear and the cars and motorcyles they ride. This is just my observation as I am part of the corporate world that wears high end watches and ride high end motorcycles.

Wear what you want and what makes you feel good. Who freak'n cares what other people think!
For what it is worth, my wife has a 26 mm DJ. When it was in the shop, she wore my 36 mm DJ (Thunderbird). Now, after I paid the astronomical service bill to get her watch out -- but that's another story -- she won't give my watch back! UGH. However, I must say that she wears it well. |

Personally I think women wearing larger watches (men's or ladies) is really sexy. My girlfriend has several larger sized watches (Armani, Technomarine and even old POP Swatches!) and they all look great. She looks particularly good wearing my Ebel 1911 BTR 1215862.
But it really is personal choice, go with whatever you feel comfortable with. Last edited by CanuckArborist; 19 January 2011 at 06:02 AM.. Reason: Spelling. |

It is not a male/female issue here, but one of the appropriate size for one's body proportions. My wife is 5'11" and anything smaller than 34-35mm jut looks like a little bracelet on her wrist. I am 5'11" as well and anything over 42mm looks like some form of an orthopedic device on my arm. |

This topic always seems to end up in a brawl. Maybe the search button would be helpful. My wife wears a 31MM DJ and it looks great on her. The 26MM was just too hard to read. A watch doesn't make a woman sexy, anymore that a sports car can make a caveman look sexy. A man wearing a 50+MM Uboat looks just as silly as a woman wearing a giant sports watch dangling from her wrist like a dangle bracelet. Just to be fair though, if a man has a 5/12 inch wrist, he looks silly wearing a 40MM watch too. Has nothing to do with sexism, but has everything to do with proportions. Wear whatever you want, just don't expect everyone to agree with you.

Hah, my first post and it is to show that women DO rock a man's watch. Here's my DJ 36mm given to me by DH for my January milestone bday (courtesy of Tony G., aka justrolexes on TRF--Thanks, Tony!):
Sorry, pics aren't that clear. Anyway, I LOVE wearing (and looking at) my DJ so much that I've even been wearing it to bed. But what's really bad is now I'm eyeing the Sub, too Amy |

I have seen women wearing GMT's, Explorer's, Sub's, DJ's and a Daytona and they looked great!

I picked up my first ever infraction points (& made a sincere public apology to Karis) when during a similar thread I jokingly (& foolishly) remarked something along the lines of "Women shouldn't wear mens watches because the only time they need to know is when it's their husbands dinnertime!!"
(ok yeah in hindsight I can see how that wasn't as funny in type as it was in my head! ) Can I just say though that I do think too many people (generally men ) are far too quick to jump on the "PC bandwagon" & condemn anyone who DOESN'T like a mans watch on a ladies wrist? It's only personal taste after all (personally I like the look but my wife wouldn't wear my cSub' or my GMTc if you paid her) & just because someone opines that "ladies watches are designed for & best suited to ladies & vice versa mens" it doesn't necesssarily mean that the poster is a vile & ignorant sexist pig!! I wonder: would so many members be so quick to condemn a female member who expressed her opinion that a guy looked less than ideal if he wore a 26mm Datejust?? But anyway..... Slightly off-topic I know but nevertheless almost the same tangent (& in an attempt at lightening up all the "cavemen" remarks)..... with all this talk of "Wear whatever you want" can I take it you'll all be ok with me wearing my mankini (& whichever watch takes my fancy) to the next GTG then??

I love my larger watch
Rolex has great options for everyone. I have a 31mm DateJust, a 35MM Tudor Sub and a 40mm Daytona. I love them all and receive compliments when I wear each of them. Wear what you want and enjoy it!
