Thanks! The two vintage are displayed in our Rolex Room...along with a few others for the event on the 10th! The 18K Strap model with the gray dial is da bomb!

Here are my 2 on a strap. Although I dont wear them very often on straps.
This is wear Rolex needs to step up....and finish between the lugs in.....how can I say this This is where attention to detail warrants the big bucks for a Rollie, not the second rate press marks that stamped out the case. The don't even finish or polish between the lugs. They hide it with the end link and hopes nobody see's it. C'mon Rolex...... cheers

Rolex Leather Straps !
Great pics guys.. We can really discover here (@TRF) beautiful ideas. But let me add that I only love leather straps on Daytona's. Full stop.
I am not convinced to use a leather strap on a Submariner !! This is a diving watch the only option may be a Nato straps that can resist water.. But nothing will be better than its Oyster bracelet.. Come'on guys Rolex bracelets are really part of its beauty..

Thanks for the re-direction guys... some really outstanding combos here! I especially like the grey carbon fiber pictured above. I didn't want to go with more black. That's why I was seriously considering the medium brown leather (for the winter months here in N.E.), but I have to admit the grey carbon fiber looks like the perfect combo.

My reason for wearing a metal bracelet is quite pragmatic. If I wear a leather or cloth strap in warm weather, things start to grow on the underside of it. Also the straps wear out a lot quicker than metal bracelets.

Gotta love this thread! Lovely pics!
Just have one Rolex, and in no way it is going to get a leather strap. But thinking about changing my navitimer from black to brown leatcher, and get myself a folding clasp too. Btw. Favourite pic in this thread is the Black dial Milgauss on leatherstrap. Beautiful!! |

Very nice Robert. I actually had the same "curved end" croco-patern band, (your first photo), on my Explorer I, (your second photo), which I gave to my son, along with the original Oyster bracelet, this past Christmas. I went with the black version first, but just found it to be "none more black"... LOL!

I must say though that for those looking to put a strap on a Rolex, you probably want to look at a CURVED END STRAP. Nylons are no problem, but it seems that the springbars on the 3 Rollies I have are so close to the case that the leather straps rub. Then you wind up with this...

Today I installed a tan ostrich strap to my daily-wearer 18K/SS DateJust. In the other photo, I have been wearing it with a Bordeaux Wine Crocodile Strap. The ostrich is very comfortable and needs no break-in! Very comfortable!
(Excuse the dust on the crystal...I know, shame on me)
