I feel leather straps look fantastic in Rolex watches.
I specially find very elegant a DJ gold case with a nice pair of brown crocodile straps.
On Sports models, and specially a Sub, a leather strap is not the best option if you are going to use it in water, or for diving, and a rubber, plastic, or other modern materials will work better.
Nato are a good choice for diving, specially for security reasons, in case one of the bars fails. I like the Nato for its colorful presence in pictures, but not very fond of them, anyway.
From time to time, I like to make a little change with a nice pair of straps.
Here are some of my watches in straps:
Cordial regards, Abel

Here are my Turn-O-Graph and 6150 Explorer on Hirsh Leonardo Principal curved end straps. Hirsh liked the Turn-O-Graph picture so much that they asked if they could use it in their newsletter.

Robert

The dark spot on the 6150 dial is just a reflection of my house.

With these (good looking) Subs & SD's on leather, I'm curious if anyone makes a slightly more "fitting" strap out of shark/ray/eel/etc?

because you can do so much more with bracelets. there is the easylink, incremental diver extention link (glide lock), pcls, etc etc

and its way more durable
