Skydweller or any GMT watch for countries with half hour time zones? 🤔

I love the Skydweller and think it maybe makes more sense than a datejust currently. But I stay in India and it’s time zone is GMT +5.30 hours! So how do I use the GMT function of the skydweller or any GMT watch for that matter if I am travelling to europe, US,Uk etc.? So I guess the GMT function of the skydweller or any other GMT watch becomes redundant for me in most cases, unless I’m travelling to those select few countries which have similar half hour time zones hence I think it’s better for me to just go for a datejust instead for my next purchase and save some money too

Wish there was a way to work around it. Since I also love the GMT master ii and would love to even add a root beer two tone or the Pepsi someday. And I know most would say it’s not about the function but the love for the watch and most people hardly ever use those added functions. But I’d like to have an option to use those functions and definitely would even use them if I’m paying such obscene amount for these watches!

If anyone has any knowledge about this particular issue, would be nice to know and also your views in general about this situation.

P.S. - currently own a steel sub black dial with date I purchased 2 years back.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre Unique Travel Time will solve your problem. Just recently looked at it at the boutique, very interesting piece.

Having said that, really interested in the sky dweller, love the function and the whole design.

Hello all!

New here, have not been searching for my sky dweller for long, love to hear about your on-wrist, daily use experiences!

Been contemplating about the two tone yellow gold and stainless steel version, can't decide between white or black dial.

Currently own a 114060, so kind of want to get a different colour dial, but the gold, black, red combo is just SO GOOD!!

Happy New Decade to you all prominent Sky Dweller enthusiasts!

Hope to join the club soon!

Thanks for sharing! Both look fantastic! Quite a big difference, wonder how the white dial would look.

I love the blue dial but I have so many watches with blue dials in various shimmering hues. This is my first black dial Rolex.

Not that I would have said no to a blue one if my AD had offered - the probability of which is somewhat less than zero.

Thank you.

The black dial is highly legible. The white gold hands stand out well against the dial, which has just a hint of sunburst. It will occasionally flash but mostly looks flat black - at least in the current UK winter conditions. I'l looking forward to seeing how it plays in bright summer sunlight.

The reference time zone takes more than a quick glance but that's my granddad eyesight more than anything. The font is crisp and has good contrast. The Polar has spoilt me. It has the most legible dial I have ever seen. The black Sly Dweller is right up there but nothing beats my Polar.

Thank you! I gave in and went to the grey market, David sw. I’d been to nearly 50 ADs all telling the same thing about allocation.

Thank you, and I agree. I have yet to get bored looking at it. The sundust dial is underrated in my opinion. Glad to have purchased this new before this dial was discontinued.

Is the model reference number 326935?

Quick question - I've got a ss SkyD white dial. Am I able to purchase a rhodium dial to swap in later on?

I have heard from a Rolex Boutique that it is possible to change the dial for a datejust. So perhaps it'd be possible for SkyD too.

Let me know if you are able to, and the cost please. As I cannot decide between black or white dial right now, so that might be an option down the road!

Thx!

If you’re planning on doing it through the RSC, their answer will be no. First off, for a dial swap to be considered the new dial option has to be available within the same reference number. The rhodium is only available with Everose Gold so they won’t allow it to be swapped onto a SS model.

It’s an interesting watch. But the only JLC I would be interested if ever, would be the Reverso! I am a Rolex fan all the way and love the SkyD and the GMT models so thought if there could be any way to work around it. Thank you 😊

Same here, still drooling over SkyD.

GMT with a rotating bezel should be able to solve your problem~
