For the vast majority of DD40 and DD2 owners... it’s too big for you.
I hate to break it to you, but the watches look too big for your wrists.

I think the DD40 has perfect proportions. Looks great on any gender I have seen it on.
Just my 2 cents. |

DD40 has the peeerrrfffeeccttt dimensions.
Best DD model that has ever been released. I've tried on a DD36 multiple times but couldnt come to grips with the size of it. The DD41 I absolutely love the wave dials but the proportions of that watch is just not right. It sits on my wrist funny also no matter what configuration. When the DD40 was released - just WOW. I fell in love with it the first time I saw and tried one on. Its a pretty wide consensus that Rolex absolutely nailed it with the DD40. |

Pointlessly provocative post. How would you know about the 'vast majority' of owners of these two watches, and why would it bother you anyway? If you 'hate' to say this, then why do so?

I agree. Although I’d extend this to many other models that are shown on the forum. There are more people on this forum who post pictures that look well out of balance, than not. Of course, this is a generalisation and there are some who wear watches that look great for their wrist size. I find it bizarre. |

But it’s a fair post. He’s talking about the vast majority he’s seen on here. “Hate to break this”. It’s a starting phrase. |

Yes, I get that but it's still a provocative post and to what end? Who cares, as long as the owners are happy? Watch size seems to be an emotive issue for some members, for reasons which escape me. It's a personal choice, regardless of what others may think. And of course internet wrist shots are a poor indication of actual size/proportion anyway.

Honestly this was a weird post from the OP - probably boredom from lockdown.

To blanket say the watches DD40 and i take it you meant DJ2 as opposed to DD2 in your thread header, regardless are too big is just designed to provoke some type of reaction. I have refrained from commenting on some of your inane posts previously. As they always seem to be derogatory. |

Pictures you take from up close don't show how you actually wear the watch and how it fits.
I can't find the original post anymore and I'm no photographer so I don't know the specifics, but it's about the angle/camera/... whatever you use. The same goes with pictures of your face, using the correct lens does a lot. By Svorkoetter Quote:

can't speak for others, but a 40mm DD on my wrist would definitely look awkward, id stick to 36mm and i have a small-average 6.75in wrist

It's the same effect as someone who is wearing a jacket that is too big for their frame. I get what you mean SubMarine, but many people will be hurt by your words |

I agree, if you happen to have the wrists of a 12 year girl, 40mm is too big.
If you happen to have a man’s normal size wrist, 40 is considered small to most. I’ve had 49mm Breitlings (my wrists are like 7 inches) that didn’t even look big because I have flatter wrists and the lugs curve on most Breitlings so it wears much smaller. 40mm never has looked remotely big. I think the Day Dates look much smaller than GMTs too. |
