A Breitling Fan...

This post is in regards to the individual who happened to be wearing a Breitling rather than about the brand itself. Nothing against the brand.

Walks into a jewelry counter and gets assistance. He asks the clerk what high-end watches he has. He replies: "Well, we have some Rolex(es)" - Breitling fan replies: "Nah. I don't like those. Rolex is junk - They have to under $2,000."

You go buy your Breitling, buddy...

There is nothing wrong with Breitling watches. I own a Steefish and it is a high quality watch, just doesn't have the Rolex name and I'm okay with that.

In my opinion your candor will not be appreciated here.

If your post was meant as a joke, please post in appropriate sub forum.

Nothing against the brand. Just the fella representing them. He saw me standing there with my 14203 and his tone was in the fashion of being "better than" because he thought Rolex watches were "junk" - It was comical. When he bought a Tag they had he used three different credit cards to pay for it.

That was part of the comical value of it. I guess he was looking for something "super high-end" for next to nothing. He ended up buying a $1,000 dollar Tag following it by stating that it was better than any Rolex that they had... and out came the three credit cards... It was one of those situations where you just had to be there.

Your Steelfish bracelet is better than a Sub bracelet.

Well for a moment I hoped he was right about Rolex being under 2 000$ but it seems like I'll have to keep saving...

Talk about a snobbish man, since when can you only judge a watch by its price?

I agree the Professional II bracelet is comfortable, good looking, and definitely high quality. I know this a Rolex forum, Brietling sub forum, but facts are facts.

I believe that he thought by saying that he may be offered a "junk" watch at under $2,000 since apparently that's all he had on his combined three credit cards. To him a Rolex is "junk" unless he could fit one on his three cards... Maybe the Breitling he was wearing was you know... not legit. Who knows. It was very amusing how the guy presented himself.

Be under $2,000. He knew that wasn't going to happen so he called the entire brand "junk"

So what he said was more like....

"Nah. I don't like those. Rolex is junk - Besides, I only have $2,000 to spend."

The Tag he bought was "junk" too, until he got the price down to almost half of what it was tagged. Then, it magically wasn't.

Some clown who wanted something for next to nothing and if he couldn't afford it (with his three credit cards combined) ... it was "junk" - His logic.

If it were my shop, I'd have shown him the door. You don't walk into an establishment and make a scene calling all the inventory "junk" because it's out of your league, which this was the case. But, hey, money is money and they made a sale. He should have stuck to the department stores on 40% off day. He could have gotten the same piece for $800 there. He paid $1,000. But, why would I tell him that? Good deal.
