My money is safe from Rolex yet again, unless ad calls with a ss Daytona or maybe another hulk?
Omega recently took my money on this beauty though. Loving it.

Nothing among the Omega offerings has me terribly interested. Nice watches, but nothing I really want.

Most consumers laugh at Omega more than they laugh at Rolex

Not true. I have several Omega's and enjoy both brands. Simply put, one is not equal to another, and buyer's won't be flocking to the Omega boutiques any time soon when they find out the wait times for the Rolex they wanted.

Nobody laughs at Rolex, they thank them for the extra business for a bite of the cake.

Yup, another "limited edition" from Omega. 1000 gold Speedmasters and 5000 stainless steel Speedys.

Thanks guys! I love the Rolex Sub (particularly my LVc) and the GMTs (BLNR and Pepsi in particular), but I also love this SMPc - honestly a lot more than I ever thought I would. It's a fantastic watch, especially for the price.

If Omega wants to topple the king, it's going to have to make some serious changes to their lineup. I think Omega is a just okay brand. Nothing exciting, just okay. I'd like them a lot more if not for the stupid fart valve. And their hands; yuk!! I'm also not fond of the bracelet. YMMV.

Omega has been milquetoast for quite some time.

There's a reason they sit on shelves...

Why can’t Rolex be Rolex and Omega be Omega. Both manufacture fine watches at their respective price points.

Don't see it myself, like Omegas but would not buy one as it's a good deposit on a Rolex

Omega is slated to release a 321 speedmaster. However, I have been into watches since the early 1980's and can tell you this year was indeed classic rolex, not a let down. So many Rolex models have become icons exactly because they do not change with every shift in trend or taste. Many brands constantly bombard with new models and different versions. I don't want an apple watch, meaning I don't want to pick a rolex plunk down my 10 grand, and feel like I have to buy another next year. My 16610 is on my wrist as I type, unchanged for 20 years. Interestingly, take a look at the 16610, older pepsi, exp II etc, you will find interest is up on the old models. A model has to stick around and get noticed long enough to develop into an icon.

I have an original speedy pro and purchased it last year. In that year, I have been bombarded with like 9 LE's. I did have some interest in the Speedy Tuesday I, but then bam, the speedy tuesday II version came out. That level of change makes me dizzy and why i have the one and only original version.

Rolex now and has ALWAYS been about very slow, incremental tweaks. For those folks just getting into rolex over the last couple years, with the BLNR, BLRO, Daytona changes, this was far faster than rolex has changed historically. People clamoring for red subs, 44mm subs, ceramic Explorer II's, not gonna happen that fast...if at all. When we think of Icon watches, the rolex sub/gmt, date just/President, Speedy Pro, Navitimer, etc...these watches still look very similar to the way they did 50 years ago. Will the speedy tuesday I or II (Homage to other watches) version ever reach that level of icon status, doubt it. Just my 2 cents.

Well Omega watches don’t have fancy nicknames, so checkmate Omegatards.

People forget. Omega used to be the 'King'. Omega may not have the brand perception they once did or current market resale value but arguably they make a better watch and are much more innovative.

I agree with this guy And for the one guy above who said, "yeah Omegas are fine...but they don't compare to Rolex sport models" I mean subjectively the Omegas are more advanced in the movement department by a fair bit, and finishing on them is comparable, they are both for the most part mid level luxury swiss watches. I absolutely understand liking the aesthetics of a sports Rolex more than an omega, I really do. However on the most part quality of finish on both are very similar, while Omega edges Rolex out on innovation.

That's not to say one is better than the other, even if Omega has more tech in their watches, or Rolex is more popular and harder to get a hold of. Watches are a matter of taste. I have had Rolex, now I have Omega, and I'm planning on adding another Rolex back in.

Rolex has not been ‘on top’ in the movement game vs Omega in a long time - and continues not to be. If the argument for Rolex being on top of Omega are their movements and not their branding and the like, then we’ve clearly not been looking at the same brands over the years
