How much are gold links for the president bracelet? DD 36? DD 40? Anyone have idea of ball park cost? Just curious.

You can usually pick one up in the $300-500 range.

One 11/4 extra link is €650, don’t know the normal links. This is for DD40.

I just paid 850$ for WG DD40 extra regular link, I asume that WG and RG are more expensive than YG as happens with the watches.

Yes it is abusive, as they already have the customer they squeeze us.
It seems that as DD40 end links are shorter more people will need extra links, in my case I have a 7.5inch wrist and without the extra link is extremely tight to my taste.
Another problem could be the fine tuning, hidden clasp is super-nice but it does not have micro-adjust, the way to fine tune it is purchasing 1.25 links that are a bit more expensive than the already expensive regulars.

When I bought some in 2016 or so for yellow gold, a regular link was ~$700 and the 1.25 link was ~$850. I would expect rose and white gold to be a bit more and platinum to be like 3x as much .

I have 7.7inch wrists, tried on a plat DD40 and was really saddened that it didnt fit.No way I pay so much for a watch and you have to spend more on expensive extra links.

On the other hand, those of us with slimmer wrists would rather not pay a higher retail price for solid gold links that sit in a drawer.

For sure should be a market for selling them, probably not too big as usually people like me purchase them at the moment of purchasing the watch to be sure of how many need.
Other factor is if in the future you would like to sell your watch, then the set would not be full, but should be something easy to manage with the buyer.

Well, yeah, even with the caveats you note, someone could try to sell the extras. But just how many extras should there be, and how much higher a retail price, so folks with larger wrists don't have to bother buying extra links?

My point was just that extra time and money for larger wrists buying links directly parallels extra time and money for those who get more links than they need. There has to be a middle point somewhere.

I have had good experience getting links from the trusted sellers on this forum. They’ve consistently been able to source them for me well below retail.

Unless you have some aversion to a “used” or “grey market” link, it’s another benefit of the grey market existence in the watch world.

Didn't know that such a small piece could cost so much! So the appropriate mindset when buying a used day date is that if there are missing links, price should be lower than one that has all the links...
