Should I make this move?
I recently was at my Omega Boutique and had an opportunity to play around with the new Sedna Gold Speedmaster. And I must say I was really impressed. Such a cool piece and not as loud as most PM pieces. My only concern in the 35k sticker price.
I am considering making this move. Sell my current collection: BLNR- 126710 Jubliee Submariner -114060 Speedmaster- 1861 Big Box Hesalite This would be in order to purchase a Seldna Gold Speedmaster and Regular 3861 Speedy. So I will have the new speedy in both Gold and SS. Am I loco??!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I imagine the overwhelming majority is going to say no. I honestly probably wouldn't because I like 3 vs 1 and love each of the models you mentioned in their own unique way.
But mannnnn that gold speedy is sexy..... If only my wife would approve.... What PM Rolex mods would you have left? |

Well I would actually be doing 3 for 2 lol. I would be buying the Sedna Speedy AND Regular 3861 Speedy. But yes it is a stunner in person. |

No, I don't think you're crazy at all.
It all depends on how big a fan you are of the Speedmaster. Personally, I think that gold version is awesome and if I was in your shoes, I may well go for it! |

i will keep at least BLRO, og maybe sell the other 2 then top up with some cash to get the Seldna gold piece - the SS one you can save up for it later, price does not increase that much IMHO.

Gold speedy looks sick. That being said, I would try to hold on to one of your Rolexes and forego the 3861. My vote would be to end up with the gold speedy and BLNR.

Absolutely loco, way overpriced is an understatement, don't do it, wait a few days/weeks and see how you feel.

I'd keep the Sub and forego the new 3861
I would however trade the BLNR and 1861 and chip in the rest for the Sedna |

I’ll be honest, as much as I love the speedy I wouldn’t do this. If you are intent on getting the Sedna sell the BLNR and the 1861 and fund the rest would be my vote.

No way. That’s a nice collection as is. If you must do it keep the BLNR.

I get it. Big moves bring big returns or great regrets. It is all about what you want and how you want to go about getting it. I would consider keeping the 1861 and forgoing the 3861 as a cost savings but don't know how that impacts the formula. I have a 1861 and a 3861 and I wear the 1861 quite a bit more as I don't seem to mind the daily wear and tear as much as the newer 3861. I would also shop the Gold Speedmaster with a few of our Trusted Sellers so you will know what you are looking at price wise should it not work and you want to flip out. Get the information and make a decision. I would go for it, looks like fun.

Not a move I would make but we all know watches are totally subjective and about passion rather than rationality. If it feels right, go for it.

I wouldn’t do it. Perhaps wait the hype out and wait for a market crash then scoop up a gold piece on the cheap?
It wasn’t until 2-3 years ago that gold pieces started going through the roof. Not the same watch, but I remember when a blue dial gold sub was 25k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That Sedna is super nice but I’d have to keep the sub as well. I wouldn’t want two speedy’s. But hey, it’s your watches, do whatever you want.

That's a tough call! I like having a larger collection but that's just me. If you have the desire for this Gold Speedmaster on that level it's worth considering.
I'm not sure what they go for on the pre-owned market or how often they come up but it's something I would at least research in depth prior to making the move. I totally get the appeal though and don't think you're crazy here. If you love the Speedmaster it's a model worth collecting. |

It's beautiful, but I wouldn't trade all of that for it. Follow your heart though.

I wouldn’t do that, and I really like the gold Speedy. I’d keep the BLNR, sell the other two, then add the gold Speedy. Two watches. Too similar to have both Speedmasters.

This is what I would do as well. The Sedna is amazing and I would swing it while trying to keep my fav rolex. You will not need the steel speedy after this.

The gold Speedy looks stunning, but BLNR/Sub/Speedy is a great collection. Wouldn't do the 3 for 1, unless really tired of the Rolex's. Seems that would be pretty hard to unwind if trader's remorse set in.

You have a nice collection already and you might end up missing it. The gold speedy is nice but I do not think it is practical, it is not automatic and has no date function and I think you might lose a lot of money if you decide to trade it in the future.
Trade the old speedy with the new one, get the sapphire version, it is more dressy yet sporty. |

YES!!!! 100 percent yes, no question, absolutely positively you should because I am a complete stranger and you should take my advice on what watch you should get.
NO!!!! 100 percent no, no question, absolutely positively you should not because I am a complete stranger and you should take my advice on what watch you should not get. Or, you could just do what you want. |

I would wait until you can do this deal and keep the BLNR. I think you will regret that one going.
Love the Sedna speedmaster too however I am concerned about how easy the time is to see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Only you can answer that question but I think you are really going to miss the Sub and BLNR. FWIW, I have the 1861 Hesalite and don't think the upgrade is worth the $.
Would the two speedies be your only watches? If so, that gold is going to be heavy in the AZ heat and neither will be able to withstand the pool (if you have one). To me, the all gold is gorgeous but really flashy and I couldn't see wearing it with shorts and a T-shirt, but your milage may vary. Everyone has a different opinion of what works for them. Any way you look at it, you are going to end up with a great timepiece on your wrist. However, in the future, that Sedna speedy isn't going to hold value like a PM Rolex if that matters.
