Sad part is that the person who has this watch claims that it was a gift from his grandfather who has since passed away

Wow. 100%. Ie Absolutely nothing Rolex makes, has ever or will ever dream of making looks anything remotely like it. It even has the Rolex pattern on the dial. And it's from his grandfather you say?
