Timex - marketing message of “pretty good”?

I received the below in my email, which made me scratch my head. Who is dreaming up these marketing messages?

It’s not that I expect Timex to tout superior quality to Rolex or greater hand finishing to Patek, but “pretty high standards” as the thing to remember?

Perhaps they were playing with words? Timex "Standard" collection??

Funny thing is that you talked about it on this forum, you spread the word, the advertising worked! (in a way)

Yup, that’s how I read it. Clear reference to their standard collection, whatever that may be
