I would live to see another PC from Patek with a center seconds hand. I think subsidiary seconds dials belong on simple elegant time only dress watches.

I quite like this piece and have told my AD that I'll buy one once it comes in. Personally I find the unibrow look quite good and easy to read. I don't know the techinical details of efficiency, but I would have prefered the rotor to be gold vs platinum to give the movement a bit more pop.

The day date window looks like it was inspired by a car registration plate.

I prefer the classic design of the 5320G with its more interesting case and with its large gold rotor over the small platinum one offered here for £30,000 more.

The gentleman who recently received the green 5711 has just posted a few pics of the 5236P wristshots. It looks glorious.

Well me still likes my 5327 g a whole lot better. The eyebrow window w the gap doesn’t do it for me on the new one. To me the dials and look of the 5327 are much more intriguing and classic Patek. Maybe I am biased , just mo . james in San Antonio Tx.

I like micro rotor because it is small

Patek has released another short video of this gorgeous 5236P. I hear from AD that it is very popular and there are multiple interests for this.

I saw this one in the flesh recently and spent some time with it. Its really really lovely and pictures do not do it justice. Sat perfectly on my wrist too!

A standout dress watch. I just wish it were slightly more legible.

The latest PP magazine says that the calendar wheels turn gradually rather than clicking at midnight? Anyone own a 5236p and can attest to whether that makes the in-line display look messy?

It would certainly look messy at changeover, it is a shame it isn’t instantaneous but that would be a whole other price point with Patek.

I compared one in the metal with my 5320G and wouldn’t swap it. The published images are very inaccurate and too blue. The white date window overwhelms the face and the hands get a little lost. Rule number one with a watch is to tell the time ie to see both hands at a glance in any lighting. The 5320G is perfect in this regard with its dark edged syringe and lumed hands.

The other gripe I have, besides the date white window screaming at me, is the tiny and low rise hour marker batons which could be a lot stronger and meatier. They lack the PP quality. The 5320G numerals actually stand out along with the 5 minute marker dots. Fabulous!

Finally, the outer rail track colouring, indeed the whole light blue contrast colouring looks a bit cheap. Nothing like as sophisticated or attractive as the colouring of the exemplar of PP classic style and exquisite mechanisms, the 5172G chrono.

I dropped by my AD this week and the 5236p was available (was in the safe, of course). After inquiring if any interesting pieces were available he took it out and showed me. Absolute beauty and that platinum micro rotor was sublime.

I think if you are thinking about a Patek perpetual, it would be between the 5320g and the 5236p at this time. I have not seen a 5320g in the flesh yet though am waiting for one. There is a bit of a price difference between the two pieces though…

AGREE 100%. Much prefer the 5320.

I just bought mine today, absolutely love the 5236P in flesh. I just love the fact that PP keeps doing something new and it combines a bit of a vintage with modern.

How did that work out in the end?

Any more owners out there who can share their experiences?

Interesting, I had the exact opposite feeling. I went with the 5236P, just feels like a FAR higher quality watch, super sharp finishing on the case, the dial is absolutely sublime. Very dark blue but vertical shading when the light hits is just stunning. The date wheels are super easy to read and the time is ofcourse super legible. I do not even consider the 5320G a competitor for this piece! But ofcourse we all have our opinions so I fully respect yours. Just giving my side as well.
