Panerai 40mm tools help

Hi,

Can anyone tell me when Panerai started supplying the screwdriver and strap removal tools with the 40mm watches?

I have just bought a 2000 PAM48 and the dealer tells me the tools were not supplied by Panerai yet I can see on some later 48 they are.

Thanks

I have a J series 048 and believe the new pin system was new at that time so it's been out for about 2-3 years, but certainly not back to 2000.

The screwdriver was always there on Lum's I thought. Even the J's and higher b/c of the buckle.

My 2003 PAM48 didn't come with a screwdriver.

The 048 comes with a deployant clasp, not a tang buckle.

I suppose they figure if you get a aftermarket strap it would have it's own buckle/clasp.
