Alpine Eagle - Wempe NY Edition

Happy New Year's Eve fellas!

Something festive to end off the year. What do you chaps think of this LE from Chopard? Limited to 40 pieces apparently, and looks quite the stunner..

Interesting variation on a sunburst dial.

Don’t know much about Chopard, but that looks pretty good. The dial is pretty interesting. Other than the Wempe stamp on the dial is there much difference from a “standard” model?

The 'regular' colours are blue and slate gray. Both look pretty stunning as well, but the wempe le is something else!

Very cool watch overall. The dials are beautiful. For me the bezel is a bit thick relative to the diameter of the dial, and I don't love the date window positioning.

i dont like the bezel screws. the dials are nice but it is like they combined hublot and a gen 1 VC overseas bracelet.

if you own the watch i mean no disrespect - just not for me.

I put a deposit down on one; should hopefully be available in a couple months. Not sure how many they have left for sale.

Tried it on, it’s my favorite of the dial colors available. The silver is really stunning and the blue numerals look more subdued than in photos unless they catch the light just so....I almost pulled the trigger. I wish “wempe” wasn’t in the dial (case back OK)

Only issue is that there are no discounts on LEs...

Thanks for posting these pics and the tidbit about the discounts. I only paid a deposit so I was thinking about negotiating a little when I plunked down the rest, but I’m gonna guess that a discount isn’t possible.

I’m torn on whether or not I want to drop $13k+ on this...

I really see the width of bezel with your pics too. Hmmmm...decisions decisions.

Wonder if this will be viewed in the same light as Tiffany signed rolexes and pateks in the future, or go the way of the Domino rolex!

I thought the Dominos Rolex has recently experienced a spike in valuation?

It's fabulous - doesn't look like it's trying to copy Nautilus or Royal Oak like some other integrated bracelet models.

Did anyone buy this piece?
Thinking of placing an order but I would be buying blind.

Would like to hear more comments on this before I proceed.

In my eyes the Alpine Eagle very much looks like a child of Royal Oak, Nautilus, and Overseas.

Take the midcase of the Royal Oak, add the ears of the Nautilus, polish the Royal Oak bezel round and arrange the 8 bolts in 4 sets of 2. This on a first generation Overseas bracelet is exactly the Alpine Eagle.

Admittedly, Chopard added roman numerals and moved the date to 04:30, both of which are controversial choices IMO.

Among the Alpine Eagles I like the silver dial Wempe edition a lot more than the other variants though.

The silver dial definitely makes it look larger on the wrist then the other faces. I am sure it is awesome in person. I am really shooting for the regular grey dial this fall for my 40th. I think it is just a high quality watch that is well built and will simply be a great watch to own and wear.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I was thinking of pulling the trigger on that WEMPE edition. Did anyone pull that trigger?
