I love station wagons!

My previous car was a E 2014 model BLUETEC diesel. I bought it for cheap as a very high mileage car. It was flawless for 50.000 kilometers and when I gave it to the dealer it had 365 thousand kilometers on the clock. Besides one thermostat it had ZERO issues during the time I owned it for three years. And people say Mercedes quality isn't what it used to be. Well... I haven't noticed. I've had many in a row and they have been very reliable.

My new one is very low mileage car compared to that. Almost new (to me). I love this design.

As you can see I love station wagons. Our 2008 Volvo is another crazy solid car that can probably outlast me. It's not the most exciting car in the world and definitely not "sporty" but it's a friggin' tank.

Any other wagon owners?

I like them as well! Very functional and fun!

I just moved to Germany from the US and would love to buy a an Audi or Volvo wagon, but it probably won’t happen.

Most people want SUVs but for some reason I'm not that excited of them.

The only SUV I really like is the Mercedes G-model which is truly a hardcore car... but the newer ones are insanely expensive.

Cheers.

My favorite car I’ve owned was a wagon. I drove a Volvo XC70 for ten years straight. I went to an SUV for my current car (Q7) and hands down prefer the wagon. If I had simply gone with an updated wagon I think I’d be much happier. But Volvo was changing its line up and the new wagons were nowhere to be found when I bought my new car 2 years ago. I’ve still only seen a handful on the road. If I didn’t spend 99% of my driving in my work car I’d probably have switched out but as is my wife has taken it in as her car and prefers the SUV.

I like the wagon because it’s got a more controlled/stable feel while driving( especially cornering at higher speeds), has the same utility space and it’s easier getting a big dog, especially a senior big dog, in an out being lower to the ground.

Oh man that XC70 is one of the best designs by Volvo EVER. I might be a bit biased because we have that old V70 but hey... amazing car.

My 2007 SLK 55 has only done 76000km.

In that time I have replaced a crank angle sensor (and some tyres).

I have no complaints.

But my old ‘92 3.2 XJ6 has 267000km on the clock.

I did replace the rear shocks and front bushes last month and it now drives like new and I did have to top up the tranny fluid last week (300ml).

I have a hoist at my factory and I do like to look after my two and four wheelers.

I love Jags. I had this car for a while V8, air suspension, amazing ride quality. And wherever I drove with it, I usually got positive comments.

I owned a 2003 Passat wagon that could haul more than most SUVs, got over 30 MPG, and performed trouble free for the 108K miles I drove it.

Sold it to my guitar player who's driven another 120K miles with it.

That’s pretty cool. Don’t find too many Jaguar enthusiasts these days, especially not the XJ40 variant.

I’m actually in the middle of semi restoring the XJ6 I just bought. It’s probably the most solid car mechanically speaking Jaguar made.

I had always wanted another XJ6 but didn’t think I would ever do it until I found my fathers old 1990 XJ6 Sovereign in the middle of nowhere south of Nashville where I live. It is the actual car I learned to drive in and found it 21 years later almost as my father sold it. I may be venting a bit, I apologize, I’m just excited as I always loved that car.

On the subject of wagons, I have this weird appeal to them as well. I got really excited for an e63 wagon I saw getting on the interstate the other day, my wife though I had lost it since it’s a wagon.

I haven’t owned one yet, but I actually do want one.

I love wagons but there are not enough affordable options. My daily is a Taurus X that has nearly 150k. Likely will be replaced by a Bronco Sport in the near future.

I love my station wagons too. This is my version of a station wagon. Has to fit the golf clubs. 12cyl and AWD doesn't hurt if you're taking a trip to the mountains too;)

Not sure on this but didn't the SUV and Crossover result from the Big 3 using these vehicles to stay within the guidelines of xx mileage within their fleet. And the fact that the fleet mileage guidelines only apply to cars.

So if they could advertise and flood the market with trucks and SUVs they could essentially bi-pass the fleet restrictions for MPG.

In 1990 when the Ford Explorer first hit the market that was the pretty much the end of the station wagon. I believe that's why gas guzzling boat-like station wagons went the way of the dinosaur.

Many childhood memories were had staring out the rear window of my parent's 1991 Caprice wagon with the rear facing bench.

Want to see how hard it is to get an order in on an RS6 in the next 12-18 months.

Mercedes CLS AMG 63 Shooting Brake might be my all-time favorite wagon. Looks amazing. And I actually like this previous generation more than the new one.

E AMG 63s is pretty fast. 3.4 seconds 0-60 mph. That Ferrari might get close though. :D
