Sure. I didn't say he shouldn't have owned one.

I just don't think that these indecent scumbags are worth the bandwidth they are given and certainly not here.

Where's he now?

Caution: Grotesque picture.

What's your point? He deserved to die? Talk about not in good taste posting that link even if you put a 'caution' warning. What makes 'them' indecent?? Who exactly are them?????

My dear friend, these men were criminals.

Criminality is indecent.

I am speaking of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G., specifically, and these criminal rappers in general.

That should be clear.

I'm not excusing their or anyone's past, but your smart aleck 'I've heard of him where is he now' comment was uncalled for. Because only 'criminal rappers' get murdered, I almost forgot. What do you know about 'criminal rappers'? Stick to subjects you have a clue about.

Yes, these men may have committed some crimes in their early days, but I think that it’s pertinent to account for the economic and social conditions of inner-city America in the late 20th century. Can you honestly say that if you were transposed into the life of an impoverished, young, urban black man that you wouldn’t have had a significantly different life than the one you have today. As Biggie said, “because the streets is a short stop / either you slinging crack rock or you got a wicked jump shot.”

I’m not excusing the crimes Biggie or Pac may have committed (or more likely just bragged about). But, why is so hard to see them as talented artists who rose above their roots and saw their musical genius realized and appreciated. Don’t we accord that to Johnny Cash and his fellow Outlaw Country stars who also boasted about being dangerous, drug addled criminals?

Correctly used, Wikipedia a valuable resource.

Congratulations are not in order.

My academic background has made research second nature.

I certainly didn't need Wikipedia to know the generalities of these thugs' lives, so your sarcasm is misplaced.

Just remember everyone this forum is about watches.

Posting a photograph of a person (who may or may not be a criminal) wearing a watch, be it a Rolex or any other brand is not an endorsement of that individual as a person either good or bad.

If the particular person depicted is not to your liking, then you have the option:
(a) comment on the watch along, and forget about the person;
(b) move to another thread.

Otherwise purporting to advise another member what is or is not acceptable is a role of the moderators, it is not the role of a member to tell another member what is or is not appropriate.

If you otherwise have a problem then contact a moderator.

Thank you, and heaven help the next person who doesn't follow this advice.

All of that aside, Biggie ALWAYS loved Rolex, and the very first piece of expensive jewelry he purchased was a TT DJ, blk face with brilliants and diamond bezel. It's going up for auction:

It's amazing how one picture can make some get their panties in a bunch. The guy lived and died for himself. He wore Rolex, drank Crystal, smoked the best, and slept with countless groupies. Go back to his childhood and the guy had NOTHING. He made it to the top of HIS world so he bought Rolex watches to treat himself to a nice thing. Don't we all?

He came from nothing and WORKED his way to the top. It may not have been a profession many of us respect or admire but his accomplishment is amazing if you look at it objectively. I think it's cool he liked Rolex and won't comment on anything else.
