I have heard that the OB's are expecting these in very shortly.

I'll be interested to see if its a long delay before AD's can get their hands on them. It seems like production has taken much longer than anticipated.

The Ti model with the blue dial is amazing looking as is the solid RG model with the black dial.

Looked at two of these watches in the flesh today. Not so sure that they totally impress. SS black dial and the Titanium blue dial. The case is thick and they sit high off the wrist and the sapphire crystal back reveals a movement that is not really beautiful to look at. The dials look better in photos than in real life where I felt they were somewhat flat. Omega uses an inferior grade of steel to Rolex so given that SS model is the same price as the no date Sub but without the real pedigree to justify it and it is double the price of the Tudor Black Bay (which uses a similar grade steel to the Omega), I'm not so sure that this is a winner for value. Still it is a lovely watch but I was just left a little cold and not hankering to own one.

316 vs 904... No Omega's is a not proprietory blend like Rolex. 904 has a little more resistance to corrosion. Both are high grade. Is Rolex's steel worth hundreds to thousands more? I doubt it. In reality it is a few dollars worth of metal. You are paying for design and tooling. The average person would never know the real difference in metals if they were in raw form right in front of them, let alone perform differently. Is Omega's steel inferior, well that is subjective...the power of marketing...

Looks fantastic. The cutaway shot with vintage is cool. I hope it's not too thick, it doesn't look it.

The new one is awesome but for me, if the dial looks aged, it better be because the watch is old!

for me, the two best looking in the range are the full RG/black insert & dial and the TT Ti/RG/blue insert & dial:

Please let me disagree on that Scott. The 904 is 'white' all the time while the 316 can look like titanium (gray) depending on the light condition and this is something that makes a big difference - for me at least - when we talk about spending a great amount of cash on a wrist watch.

I like that two tone a lot. And I usually don't like two tones. I've definitely become more an Omega fan as of late.

Not this weekend, but if they don't sell all of their pieces off by next week then I'll take some shots.

Lol, good luck

I went to the Omega boutique at lunch, they got 2 pieces Wednesday, sold both yesterday. Said to have 6 people on waiting list for SS, 2 for TT blue.

The sales guy, who is very good (serious WIS), said it's the most excitement he's seen over a watch in Omega's history. He said vintage guys, SMP guys, etc are all over it.

I'll have to say $6,600 for an Omega is all the money though, I can get my TT sub for less, pre-loved of course.

The titanium version is more than double the price of the Tudor Pelagos which has a beautiful piece of titanium casework, release valve, 500m rating, date and it's a Rolex Oyster after all but yes there is an ETA inside. So on one view an extra $5000 for the 8400 movement means you have to really love Omega and the look of this watch, as the price seems hefty.

Really? grade of Steel? really?

antimagnetic movement with display back?
liquid metal bezel?
frictionless balance spring with greater accuracy/longer power reserve and longer service interval?....meaningless?....steel is the marker of luxury?

As far as I know, Patek, Vacheron, Audemars all use 316 Steel in their SS models....

I'm guessing you place Rolex ahead of these houses now?

They really blew it by not having applied markers on this piece as it resides in no mans land of tool and bling with the polished cases and center links then it has a non descript and shoddily printed dial. Swing and a miss

You forgot to mention its actually about a grand cheaper than the SubC no date and they are in fact NOT the same price.

But maybe you were just trying not to rub it in.

At the end of the day you either like it or you don't. It's a personal preference and matter of taste but to argue Omega did not pack a lot of punch into this offering just seems silly.

You guess right. I place Rolex ahead of any other watch house without hesitation.

As I said, it's a lovely watch but the price seems hefty, particularly on the titanium model.
