Omega or Tag- which is the better watch
Do you think Omega or Tag is a better watch?

I'd say Omega, based mainly on superficial criteria at this point.

As a watch they both tell the time so neither is better, as for what I would preffer to have on my wrist, well it would probally be an Omega purely because I prefer thier designs, the Tags always have a look of a jumped up cheap watch in my personall opinion, though I have 3 friends with TAG's who would disagree. At the end of the day its down to personal taste.

I will suggest that the Omega is a better watch! I do have a soft spot for the Tag Monaco and Carriera though.

This is going to be interesting as time goes by..
I think that I would give the edge to Omega...but Omega is going in a different direction.. Omega has come out with their Co-Axial movements, and has decided to bring their entire line on board with this new design....they will increase their prices to bring themselves more in line with Rolex, who is their target group.. TAG has started their "What are you made of" campaign which has little to do with the watch, but rather with who wears a TAG.. Two distinctly different goals... Omega with cutting edge technology... TAG with celebrity wearers and their "Look like your favorite celeb" campaign.. no substance, but drawing on cult status.. I think that this Omega/TAG race will be as interesting to watch as Rolex/Omega will be....

Is the quality of Omega actually better than TAG though?

Both are excellent mid level luxury watches....
This is one of those "My kid is better than your kid" arguments. As far as holding value though...Omega wins hands down and is the better long term purchase..

Seamaster is a great watch but my favourite at the moment would be the Carrera Chrono
TAG for me but i suspect Omega to be the more prolific. |

Well...there's an Omega forums here and no TAG forum...that speaks volumes.

In my experience, Omegas have that feeling of solidity which is synonymous with quality. Just little details that make wearing the watch that little bit nicer - I think their bracelet clasps are top notch, and certainly the equal, if not better, than Rolex in that respect. Both brands have a rich heritage, both with iconic watches, but I think my heart will always side with Omega's design philosophy. TAGs just don't sing to me

I would definitely pick a Omega over a Tag, I think they are a much better quality watch.

IMO no contest- TAG's best watches are only on a par with Omegas low to mid range watches at best.
OMEGA is better in my opinion

imho i prefer tag designs over omega designs... omegas look gimmicky to me, while tags are fresh with great design. that being said i own a quartz F1 chrono, but for the money i'd rather have a watch with the tag body over most anything else.

I like Omega better. Just about every TAG that I have seen (and I have by no means seen them all) I didn't like the appearance of. On the other hand, the Omegas that I have seen look slick.
I think a lot of that just comes down to personal preference and what you like. |

Omega is the better brand. You see quite a few 30, 40, and 50 year old Omegas being sold on eBay. They have done quality work for a long time.
