Dress watches are not dead...yet

If you have to choose 1
choose 2
or choose 3?

TOP 3 for you?

Missing is a salmon 5270P there in the pic.

Another mic drop thread! What a great collection.

OP, do you plan to add the 5270p?

Favorite there has to be the 5131r. Very cool collection bud

Interesting that you collect all 5270's, usually its the 5970 that everyone goes to collect in each metal. But the fantastic deals you can get on the 5270's are great

Thanks guys

Not all are mine.

I had the chance to choose between 5270g or 5970g before in 2013 and to be honest, the 5270g sang to me more than the 5970g.

I know lots of die hard collectors want the rarer Lemania 5970 series, middle subdials vs 5270's bottom heavy subdials and better value retention but end of the day I'm not an investor and I got what sang to me more.

I like the 5270 series lugs better, first in house movement, bigger size at 41mm, the chrono movement is buttery smooth compared to 5970 which I was lucky enough to handle.

For me it is the perfect one. Removing the value retention factor, 5270 wins it for me. I liked it so much that I added the 5270R instead of 5970R.

The 5270P salmon I dont know yet. Lol.

But you not an investor...you buy what "sings to you"...is the P not singing or just doing more of a clicking noise?

I'll take the one that most looks like a Nautilus. No seriously I love the PP PCC, brand quintessential to me, so any of them.

I too think the market is very soft on dress watches, especially the high complications. The manual wind time only watches seem to be trending up, especially those with longer power reserves and intriguing dials. No fuss, just wind and wear when the whim strikes. The true purpose of a dress watch.

Lovely. Just lovely. Thank you for sharing!

I wanted a 5270P-001 in my collection, but ultimately passed due to the asymmetrical nature of the dial. Broke my heart to make that decision, but I feel Patek missed the boat on that one. Should've been more like the 5271P's dial: https://www.patek.com/en/collection/...ions/5271P-001

I don't dig the arabic numeral on the upper half of the 5270P's dial. :(

White and blue plus other complicated nautilus. Relationship with AD matters and have been collecting for years before social media increased demand for Patek sports model.
