Icon14 Show us your cowboy boots!

I'm a huge fan of cowboy boots! Any fellow fans?

I bought my Lucchese 1883 in Dallas, TX back in 2008. I try to give them as much walking time as possible, but as the weather tends to be pretty average here in London, they mostly come out during the summer

Just love 'em, super comfy, look sensational with a pair of jeans and of course, any Rolex and cool t-shirt go very well with them - perfect combo for an urban cowboy

Here they are - I'm hoping to get my next pair in Orlando or Miami when I go there in 3 weeks

Now show us what you have!

Bliss - love 'em!!

Oh yeah, crusing around Dallas looking for a places that sells crawfish!

This is Andre The Giant's boot - see how massive it is compared to me??!!

I don't have a picture handy, but I own 2 pair of Rios of Mercedes boots, including a pair of the Rust Crazy Horse pictured at the link

http://www.riosofmercedesboots.com/s...wboy_boots.htm

Extremely tough and very comfortable. Look great with jeans or slacks. They have the Milan toe. Gotten many compliments on them.

I have just one pair but I hardly ever wear them.

They were not the very expensive kind... Dan Post, black lizard.

As it turns out, there are different kinds of boots, something I did not really bother to learn when I bought mine.
What I have is a riding boot, and it has the taller heel and a more rounded front. (main reason why I do not wear them much)
The OP's is a walking boot, with a lower heel and squared off toe area. I prefer that style as it looks less country western and more "urban cowboy". (to use the OP lingo)

No pics but have worn a number of pair of Dan Post [nice initials] boots as they fit me best. A pair of plain black elk skin are the most comfortable.

that's right Chip! i researched for a good year, then when I went to TX i tried on so many different kinds, finally ending up with a nice boot on a walking heel.

Certainly nicer if you're walking around a town like London, with roads and paved streets from the 1500s!

Very nice!

I thought about getting those as they have a more modern, urban look.

something called Laredo.
119 bucks on zappos.com but they had good ratings.

I wear half boots most of the time and most of my jeans are the boot cut style, either Seven or Rock Republic. Too country of a look does not work well with those jeans but the modern urban look of those would work just fine I think.

I recently bought those Hugo Boss Chelsea boots and I like them quite a bit.

Kinda embarassing but I cannot tell you how long I've lusted after a pair of real cowboy boots!

I had a pair back in the 80's (that I used to wear with my suit from Next! WTF?!?!) & even though the toes were too pointy & they nearly bloody crippled me I used to love 'em to death!!

Only thing is they're bloody fortunes in the UK & I'm loathe to order from the States online 'cos sods law they won't fit!!

I JUST got my first pair in December. They're black Dan Posts. They're pretty comfortable, and I'm still breaking them in. I'll post pics when I get home.

Question for you western boot aficionados....is there anything you can do to the leather soles so you can wear them if the ground is a bit damp?? I destroyed a paid of Coach shoes in the wet, I don't want to mess up the boots.

I don't own any; but my father is a real fan of Paul Bond. He has a couple pair of Rocketbusters. But the custom Paul Bond's are his favorite. Worth the trip to Nogales.

Here is a pic I just took of my well worn ten years old boots along with my EXP II.

Both of these are Lucchese Boots. I got the brown pair about four months ago and the black pair should be here in about a week.

DAN!!! absolutely nothing wrong with lusting for a pair of real boots! The problem with Europeans is most of us think, or used to think, cowboy boots are for rednecks and people who hang out in Soho.

But I'll tell you what mate - sure my friends poked fun of me when I first got them, but man, they're all jealous now! Once they try them on, touch, smell the and even better, see how much chicks love 'em, they all want a pair! And when you walk into a pub and they touch the hard floor, clunk, clunk, everyone can tell there's a new sheriff in town, and he's not wearing white Reebook or Converse trainers

Good work on the Next suit

They're great mate. Boss doesn't come cheap though, and I'd be worried about scuffing them, as you may well know London is pretty packed with people

With my boots I always wear regular Diesel jeans, I find the boot cut covers all the nice detail of the boot. But I guess maybe that's individual preference..

Anyway below is a snap of my Lucchese with jeans.

Great picks Dan
looks like one is a rancher style boot, and the other what falls into the urban cowboy category, with a comfy walking heel - love the lizard skin! wow!

Thank you sir.

Nothing like a good pair of cowboy boots. Until last year it must have been ages since I had owned a pair.

I have two pair.

This pair of tan ostrich I had custom made 15 years back when I was in AZ from a small bootmaker. They fit like a glove and are very comfy. I also have a pair of black ostrich with a square toe I bought recently but can't take a pic of since they are in MN.

I used to buy my Tony Mora boots from R. Soles in Kings Road, Chelsea back in late 1980's. Then moved onto R M Williams riding boots which I wore pretty much through the whole 1990's. Too old for boots so now wear K Swiss trainers (helps me keep up with my young sons and much better for driving). Cheers.

I dont have a picture of my boots but check out RM Williams. Make some very high quality boots and also some quite affordable at the same time.

I believe clinton and bush both had pair's worth over 10k.

Bravo guys...
lucchese is the quintessential boot here in AZ, USA.

Had no idea they were so widespread.
