google is your best friend.

Q and A from their website.

My property was seized / taken by Customs and Border Protection; when can I get it back and what is the status?
The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer that seized the property should have forwarded the case to the appropriate supervisor for approval within 24 hours.

The case is then referred to the Fines, Penalties and Forfeitures (FP&F) office within three working days. The FP&F Officer will send the suspected violator or all other interested parties a notice of seizure.

Any questions or concerns regarding a case should be addressed to the FP&F office at the Port of entry where the property was seized. Also, you must provide the FP&F office with the seizure number that was given to you by the officer that seized the property.

To view property that was seized and is subject to forfeiture, please visit the Department of Justice website at www.forfeiture.gov.

The Department of Homeland Security authorized this action in accordance with 19 CFR Part 162, as published in the January 29, 2013, Federal Register.

If you wish to receive automatic updates to this Q&A, select "Subscribe to Updates" on the left side of this screen.

you are going to have to prove they are real. They might also be holding the watches because you didn't declare them properly. There are lots of reasons.

How did you send them? With her across the border? Or through mail?

Shouldn't they have to prove they are counterfeit instead?

no. Its the same thing if you are carrying cash. In theory they can take it if you cant prove its yours. At the border the burden is on you. Even if im carrying below the declaration limit and have 9K in cash they can make me prove its my money (bank statements, proof of income etc)and can hold it until i can if they think im doing something shady with it.

If i was guessing OP might have shipped the watches and mis declared them to avoid paying import fees or something. The package gets opened and its 2 rolex watches with a declared value of $50. It means they are either fake or someone is trying to evade taxes.

Did you send them complete with all boxes and paperwork ?
Do you have any receipts or paperwork for their purchase showing the store and amount paid or any proof of owning 2 genuine watches matching those seized ?

Are you sure they aren't counterfeit ?

Are you sure that is the reason that they were seized and was there anything that would make a CBP officer think they weren't real ?

Do you have any photos of the watches ?

Several people here have already quoted the correct information.

Who did you use to ship these watches? As the broker they should be able to provide you with instructions. Also be sure you have your properly completed declaration forms available.

English is probably not his primary language, and can be difficult for those that don’t often write it. We can all see the errors. Maybe cut the guy some slack on his writing skills. No need to rub his nose in it.

Yep, and if you dont declare them, they can confiscate them permanently.

Hello gettocard:

This may be a good day to pay forward with kindness. As a matter of fact, every day is in my humble opinion.

See a LOT of bot spam like this on trip advisor. Maybe one in 7 threads there. Not saying that's the case here but looks awfully similar.
