Double is a steep premium. I totally agree.

It is - but at least relative to other ‘hot’ models this one should maintain that pricing the best. And should the economy dip, hold value nevertheless.

Just to be clear you traded you Rolex GMT II 116718LN, a FULL gold watch, and grail for many (including myself) + cash (I'm thinking $25k+ or so) to pay double MSRP for a new SS Nautilus? In other words you gave away your Rolex GOLD GMT for the privilege of buying a new SS Nautilus for retail? I am having a real hard time stomaching this and surprised other members haven't chimed it. Definitely not the way I would obtain that watch but CONGRATS if you are happy.

Please don’t get me wrong, the 718 YG GMT2 is one of my favorite gold Rolex references. I still do miss it very much.

But the 5711 is my ultimate grail watch since I was in my early 20s. Amazing events are happening in my life right now and I wanted to mark this occasion some special watch. A milestone piece.

My funds weren’t quite ready for the 5711. That is why I had to let the GMT go.
