Opinion on Rolex 1500 Mosaic Dial

Hi All,

I'm contemplating a purchase of a 1500 with a blue mosaic dial and was looking for some input. Dial looks ok (not refinished), but other things I'm less confident about.

- It comes on a 78350 bracelet and 571 end links. Is this the right bracelet and end links combo for the watch? Authentic? Condition looks ok but not great.
- Any thoughts on market value? These aren't very common so unsure on how to value this piece. Seller is asking a tad below $2500.

Attaching some pics here, but many more and much bigger pics and a video (in daylight) can be found in the links below.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers!

Regarding the correctness of the bracelet, can you share the serial number of the watch so we can determine when the watch was sold? I'm more familiar with the 7836/78360, but I'm assuming that there may have been a similar transition from folded to solid links with this bracelet at some point.

I believe it is "22XXXXX" which suggests a 1970 production year.

In that case, according to this (https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=73646), I'm guessing that a 7835 folded link may have been original to the watch (or perhaps a jubilee?), and it was replaced with the solid link version at some point.

Yeah... so for $2500 just hold off. I still buy these from $1500-2000 all day and that’s potentially as a set w b n p. It’s allright, but not worth a penny over $1.8k. The watch is otherwise legit. Endlinks look rough, but the bracelet is decent and worth around $800. The dial looks original, but those def aren’t the correct hands.

That is my hypothesis as well after some research. Thanks for the link, very informative!

Looks like the watch is now sold and so I'll continue to look. But, I haven't seen these with blue mosaic dials go for less than $3k across forums/ebay over the past year so I'm definitely intrigued if you're finding them under $2000 and that too with B&P.

Also, can you share why you feel the hands are wrong. Are they replacements and look newer than the dial? Because other 1500 with these dials seem to have the same hands.

They look like replacement hands to me. I think these shouldn’t have any lume.
