First Time Poster - Deep Sea

Hi Forum, I recently picked up a James Cameron Deep Sea and found something off about the lumens. The markers seem to light up in blue, the hands seem to light up in green. Thoughts? Excuse the semi blurry picture.

The watch is either a fake or it's been molested somehow.
All the lume should be blue.

I’m gonna give you your only slice of hope here that it isn’t a complete junker, it’ll prob be debunked by someone who knows better than me. Also tough to get much from the picture.

Honestly, someone who knows the parts well would know better than me, but the only possibility that it isn’t 100% junk is if it is a Franken with a mix of 5 & 6 digit DSSD parts.

Actually, the bezel kinda looks ceramic in the blurry photo, I can’t tell. If that’s the case, then I’d say you’v got a junker here with that green lume in that bezel.

Yea, I’d be pissed.

Where did it come from?

I'm still here, Lol. I actually purchased this piece online from TrueFacet. Only piece i've purchased online from my collection. They supposedly have a rigorous "multi point" test to assure all products are legitimate. They also seem to have a pretty straightforward return policy, I guess i'll know in the next few days? I have additional pictures, clearer pictures - just difficult to post pictures - keeps asking for a link.

I purchased this piece from TRUEFACET online. It's my only piece i've purchased over the web, go figure. They have a "rigorous multi point test", not sure how this wasn't caught. They seem to have a straightforward return policy as well, let's see how these next few days pan out.

Where did it come from? You’re in NYC?

Please tell me you used a credit card?

This is actually one watch I purchased from a well known online vendor. They have a rigorous multi point test to guarantee authenticity. It's the only watch i've purchased online, go figure. They seem to have a straightforward return policy, let's see how this goes ..

Yes, with a credit card. I'm submitted a few posts but it seems as if they are being reviewed prior to being posted by moderators since i'm new here. Sorry if they all hit the forum at once.

Okay, that’s good, you have recourse - again, where did it come from? I’d love to give you some real advice and opinions on next steps - but I’m confused as to why you won’t state the location? Someone sold you something and clearly misrepresented what it was... At best you have a Franken, at worst you have junk.

I’m confused as to why you would want to conceal the identity of this disingenuous seller when I’ve asked twice and others have asked as well.

Hi Ferris, doesn't look like the forum is allowing me to state where it was purchased. Each time I try to reply with this information the post doesn't show up.

Hi TBone .. See above message to Ferris. I've tried posting where it was purchased a few times but the moderators don't seem to be allowing the posts. Probably because i'm a new poster.

I can try again, it was an online vendor that guarantees authenticity. They are very well known vendor to say the least and specialize in luxury watches.

The website seems to have a straightforward return policy. I e-mailed customer service, hopefully I hear back soon enough.

But honestly - my most direct advice regardless:

Package this up right now, bring it back first thing in the morning. If they won’t take it back, call your CC company and start a dispute immediately.

Whatever that watch is, you don’t want it.

Gather documentation, maybe from RSC for your CC - they’ll prob charge you about $150, but it might be a necessity.

Good, thanks!

Usually a lot of posters come around here trying to see if their fakes pass as real, as there are some super knowledgeable posters in this community. I’m taking you at face value as I believe your story and would like to help.

How was this watch described in their listing?

First thing I tried to do was log into my account and pull up the listing but the listing isn't active anymore. It was being marketed as "authentic" and in "excellent" condition. It was in excellent condition and seemed beyond authentic to my naked eye. I'm just a casual watch collector but I have shown it to friends of mine that are watch enthusiast and it passed all there tests (unless they were being nice and not calling me out). I did pay a high price for it so it's not like I got a tremendous break on it.
