Alternatives to davidsw for new Rolex

Good afternoon everyone,

I was just wondering if there are any truly good alternatives to davidsw for brand new Rolex watches. I purchased 3 pieces from him in the past and had good experiences but I was never aware whether there were any other options that are as trusted. Please chime in with sellers I may not be aware of. Current collection attached. Thank you guys!

Buy the seller, i have bought three pieces from him as well and have saved a good amount. 1 year service guarantee on his watches and good service. Why would you change.

Have bought from DavidSW and Ponycar, would use either one again without hesitation.

Sam's Watches in Miami. Sam Edwards is great to deal with. I've bought 6 Rolex from him and he is very reputable. He sells direct, through Amazon and Ebay. Highly recommend.

I have only personally used Thahn Do (takuya), but I do have all of these websites bookmarked:

https://www.nashvillewatch.com/
https://www.bernardwatch.com/
https://www.sdwatches.com/
https://timepieceperfection.com/
https://www.demesy.com/
https://www.govbergwatches.com/

Not sure if any sell new or just pre-owned, but you can do your own research.

More than a few great sellers on TRF, Mosco and Theken quickly come to mind. Both first class gents that I would highly recommend 100%.

If I were David, I’d frame this thread title and send it to anyone who doubts where to go to get a new Rolex today, first.

If I were an AD, I’d curl up in a ball and wonder why $20k in rent and $500k in annual payroll is even needed.

Congrats to all the TS for disrupting the market. And I’m being sincere. This is B School case study stuff.

DavidSW is rock solid and never had an issue.

I would also suggest DeeTee. Great and honest guy. He just opened a new store in Fashion Island and has AMAZING stock on hand. Very fair and no BS as well.

Agree. So very true.

I wish I was smart enough to put together the case study. Because it’s a good one. And a lot to be learned from it.

Most ADs sell well and share their costs across many product lines - but I endorse your kudo’s to the trusted sellers for breaking the brick and mortar model.

I think David exceeds that rent figure for his place in Orlando - especially including the security and insurance.

It’s a very nice area...

I’m not certain about his payroll but it takes a few FTE’s just to keep the doors open at any store. His sales volume likely has some serious commission costs as well. So while he isn’t an AD, his costs are watch-related and needs a GPM akin to an AD.

David is the best option. Ponycar has great stock and prices but the transparency isn't there. Sold me a watch with a bracelet that was clearly polished (and not that well) and worked like hell to dodge any direct questions I had. Very likely that they open the watches and mess with them, thus invalidating any warranty he claims to also offer. It's a sales tactic that wasn't appreciated and will prevent me from buying there again. I would pay the premium for more peace of mind.

Since you have your own opinion I'd appreciate you sharing that without quoting me since your experience is not mine. My opinion does not need your rebuttal thank you.

No offense intended friend, I just happened to buy from the same two sellers.

As a follow-up, because I hadn't thought about this in some time, I did a very close comparison of the two 116200s I have (one from each) and the case from ponycar350 was definitely polished (dulled edges by comparison). Had this been communicated upfront it would be one thing but the general lack of transparency has me, just four months into ownership, feeling less satisfied/enthusiastic than I was at the time of sale.

Best of luck to you

I have bought multiple times from Ponycar350 and always had a good experience. From the four watches I’ve bought from him they have always been as described. Even on one of them, when I mentioned it had too few links, he was quick to send me extra links.

I would say if you were unsatisfied at time of purchase and let him know, he would have taken the watch back no problems, but after wearing it for months, there can’t be an expectation of him doing something.
