Opinions do matter. Please chime in president or 2 datejust ???!

Ok I’m getting close to narrowing down my decision on a new purchase

I currently have the datejust II yellow gold ivory dial and oyster bracelet.

I was thinking about getting a second watch and it would be a datejust 41 TT yellow gold and Wimbledon dial.

BUT..........my delegate now is do I want two watches or would I want one day date. ??? I am looking at the day date 36 118238 black diamond dial yellow gold.

If I get the day date I would trade in my current watch and then pay the difference for the day date. I can’t afford the 40 or 41 mm day date right now and seems like many say the 36 mm is more elegant especially for an all gold watch.

So what’s your thoughts. Go with the one day date or have two datejust ??

I know it’s all personal but I’m having such a hard time deciding

I would prefer one day date. Wear the best as often as possible. I get a lot more joy wearing PM watches.

Yeah that does sound good with the one president. Not to long ago I bought a presidential style gold bracelet. It would look really nice together.

DD36 or 40
You’ll love either.

Personally, I went with the DD40

Just bite the bullet and get the big daddy.

You'll eventually get the DayDate. Might as well do it now and be done with it. If you get 2 x DJs you'll lose more money as well when you upgrade to the DD.

I really like the DJ II watches so I don't think the DJ 41 is an option. I also don't care for the 36mm dial, so I say Save for the DD, and keep the DJ II.

This is actually the same route I'm taking too.
Good luck!

IMHO just get the DD40. Its the perfect size in todays age.

The argument between the 36mm and 40mm is done to death. To me in todays climate the DD40 is the best looking and fitting for any guy unless you have very feminine wrists < 6 inches.

Comparing what was in fashion decades ago with now is not relevant plus showing pictures of Suge Knight wearing a DD36 is also not relevant because the only option was the 36mm back then. These days its the 40 or nothing.

AND if your currently wearing a DJ II the 36mm DD is gonna feel tiny on you.

Try the 36 and 40 and if you like the 40 more then don't settle for the 36. I settled for a 36 and I ended regretting it. It never felt like it had any wrist presence. Go big or go home.

DD40 > DD36 IMO. It's not just about the size, you can't really tell in the pictures, but the DD40 "feels higher quality" than the DD36.

I Prefer the 36mm. However, without the bling. I like simplicity.

Day date. I would also agree with others that you should look into the DD40 if you haven’t already. Putting aside the size difference, it’s a much better overall watch

The DD black diamond dial is Rolex perfection. Try on the 36 and see if it works. If not, go for the big daddy.

Do it once, and do it right. You'll wear this watch every day and love it!

One thing I have noticed on the DD YELLOW GOLD is that lots of the older models the gold looks real dirty or patina ...I’m not a fan of that and not sure if some resellers don’t polish them correct or if the gold is stained, tarnished or what but to me that’s very ugly.

Surely they have both 36 and 40mm watches. The dj and dd wear the same from a size perspective. Just try on something of both sizes and you should know.

its normal for gold as it ages, but the one that you posted is pretty polished. the fluted bezel and lugs look melted

Yeah I noticed that but wasn’t sure. It looks a little
To smooth around the bezel. I believe it’s a 2010 with one polishing from what I been told
